Sure, but right now, there is shortage of suckers willing to pay premium dollars for what they think is a premium vacation.
In a way, they are right. A weekend in Vegas still cost less than a weekend in almost any vacation spot. Try staying in mid-town Manhattan for what most CET properties cost.
Hell, I overnighted near Yuma midweek last month and it would have been cheaper to stay in Paris or Ballys.
As far as I've seen, arrivals at LAS continue at record pace. The World Sevens has set a new advance ticket sales. Business is booming. It's just these visitors don't gamble like the customers from the past. Resorts now make their money from other revenue streams.

You would sure make a good spokeshole for the Las Vegas hotels.

Just looking at the reality of the situation. The days of Harrahs having the best comp system and treating low rollers like valued guest is over. It was great while it lasted, but its gone. There is an endless supply of young guys making their first trip to Vegas and willing to spend stupid money. Next year there will be a fresh new batch, and the year after.
Their table games, as well as their slots suck. Why any rational gambler would want to stay and/or play there anymore is beyond me. I didn't realize this, but the final cost of using the two free Mac King tickets is almost $35 these days. Insanity.
Treat them with the same disdain they treat their customers.

I think it's a fallacy to compare Harrah's properties today to Harrah's properties a few years ago. Need to compare Harrah's properties to their competition today. I know it's hard psychologically. I have trouble paying $150 a night for a room that I used to pay $50 for and it was when in better condition when it was $50 a night. And I'm getting older. Can't drink as much as I used to. Want to take my wife to Italy again this year. Vegas doesn't have to remain static to appease me and my aging demographic. I wish it would.
My mom is diamond and will lose her status since she only comes to vegas once or twice a year and they sold the Ohio properties, but as a sun up to sun down player, my parents got bored and were totally over Vegas. You couldn't even play because the slots take a hundred in five minutes. For the first time in fourteen years, my parents actually came to my house and we ordered cheap Chinese takeout and played cards. They were over Vegas. Nobody wants to be treated like chump change and this is coming from decent players. Stations casinos lost my business for the same reason. Standing in a five dollar buffet line with 8 mechanics for 25 minutes on lunch break while I just lost a couple hundred bucks in ten minutes isn't my idea of understanding your customer base. It is impossible to get to their president level for a line pass. Let's just say I used to play there enough to have won one of their cars. I made president when they merged their cards with fiesta and never again.

Harrahs Laughlin will treat you like a King. Harrahs Vegas doesn't need or even want you anymore. Me either.
In Vegas, I recommend South Point. They value their customers. Even the ones who don't wear a cowboy hat.

No frikken wonder that the down town properties fill up 3 months in advance. Mid-week!In December.
Gamble and stay on the strip? Not for me. Only fools gamble down there.
People that just don't care do.
All we can do is not go to those properties and watch the CET stock take a dump.
Squeezers Palace.

The hipsters staying at the El Cortez don't seem to do much gambling there. You are more likely to find them at one of the myriad of bars in the vicinity. Can't speak on the other hotels as I don't really frequent them.
I'm not upset with any casino which gouges as much as they can charge. I believe that it's accurate when some call these casino operators arogant. I don't blame customers looking and demanding to get something for nothing. I don't blame casino owners for implementing 6/5 blackjack.

Everyone.................Everyone wants to either get as much for free as possible, or make as much money as possible. Are not those customers wanting something for nothing equally greedy as those implementing $25 parking and 6/5 blackjack?

The hypocrisy is amazing.

I don't like the greedy, but I don't blame them.....................because we all are.
Well, I read the headline that delta was offering "free food" again. And read my $750 phone comment. Greed eventually will put you out of relevance. The NFL. You think you are untouchable , but these families that have five cell phones, one for each of their ten year olds can't afford $750 to replace phones...and they are the replacer of phones. This is the first phone I've ever broken in twenty years of having one. And I actually didn't break it. Lol. There is greed and there is corruption with monopolies and payoffs. Our country is going to learn the difference. I can afford these luxuries but am a proud person. The masses are going to be forced to learn the value of a dollar by necessity.

Top of the line phones cost $750. They sell less expensive ones if you don't want to spend that much. There is a huge demand for $750 phones so why shouldn't they make them and sell the for as much as they can?
And yes, I was in hard rock at midnight Saturday night. My mistake, but not as bad a pool sundays, lol. We had to ask non players to move no less than three times. Just people sitting about typing on their phones or drinking and smoking. When we walked in some girl was passed out on the floor with security calling medics. Lol. A concert was letting it. We still have no clue who the band was after some told us. Thank God for pandora. Haven't heard a new song in five years.
