Caesars Total Rewards debacle?

Just earned Total Rewards Diamond status and it will expire 4/1/14 and will not extend to 3/31/15 as Caesars Entertainment used to do. Any happy campers?

Maybe Anthony Curtis can get to the bottom of this and reveal the truth of this dramatic downgrade of the once mighty Total Rewards program. I know Caesars Entertainment's CEO Gary Loveman stated customers demanded the changes, which I believe is BS. Our Total Rewards Tier Credits resets at zero on January 1 and we have till March 31 every year to regain Diamond (or platinum) to be effective April 1. Can Caesars Entertainment do anything right?

How do you know it won't extend until March 2015? All Caesars players cards expire March 2014, but are renewed at that time based on 2013 tier score, until March 2015. Is there something new?

According to the Total Rewards website it states, "Diamond Aspiration levels are based on your 2013 Tier Score, and the privileges of each level you reach can be enjoyed through March 31, 2014." Total Reward Website

Diamond aspiration levels are perks above Diamond level. Those expire March 31, 2014. It doesn't say Diamond status expires on March 31, 2014.

The Diamond Aspiration levels include all forms of Total Rewards Diamond status. Here is the explanation in Caesars own words...

ASPIRATION Level 3: 80,000 Tier Credits
Unlock an Annual Retreat to any Total Rewards destination with a $750 airfare credit, invitation to a NYE party, VIP round-trip airport transportation within 50 miles, Companion Card to share your priority service benefits with a friend, early check-in/late check-out, upgrade to best available room at check-in, as well as waived fees on check cashing and credit card advances.

I took it to mean that the special bonuses expire. Like the $100 celebration dinner and the VIP hotline expire on March 31, 2014 for Level 1. It would really suck if you took all of 2013 to make Diamond and then it expired after 3 months.

Exactly. It would be such a deterrent to spending one's gambling budget at a Caesars property that not even Caesars would implement such a policy.

Caesars Entertainment is in a world of hurt being $20 billion in debt. The recent changes of the Total Rewards program encourages Diamond hopefuls to rack up 2500 Tier Credits to gain a 5000 bonus for 24 hours of play. You can achieve Diamond status in just two days. Just don't do it in December where you enjoy the perks till March 31 of the next year. You will be demoted to Gold on April 1 if you gave them no action after. It's a money grab by our friends at Caesars Entertainment.

Movie, if this plays out the way you think it will play out, it would be harmful to Caesars' bottom line. This would cause Caesars to lose significant market share.

Anyone who gambles just for comps and comp levels is being played by the casino.
