Actually it does. Since illegal immigration itself is not a crime punishable by federal imprisonment, the immigration offenses (which are not detailed) probably means smuggling.

I believe you are mistaken. Once you have been deported, if you return and are caught- that is a Federal crime. I'd guess that is more common than human trafficing or smuggling.
The numbers of people in federal prison for murder is very misleading. Very few murders are Federal charges so the numbers have little to do with the number of overall murders in the country.

Wait, I thought it was established that once deported that you would not come back, thus lowering the crime rates by deporting prisoners. And why limit to just illegals? Deport all criminals and tell them not to come back until they have been gone the length of their sentence.

England tried that already. Didn't turn out quite how it was planned.

It would work for us also IF we every properly secured our Borders. That is the slowest "fence": I ever saw built. It was approved years ago and they still have not built it.

If they built the "fence" crooks would steal it and export the metal to China.

Was there some "news" about an armed citizen militia "patrolling" the border to "arrest" illegals, and finding themselves arrested and prosecuted?
