Can the machines be switched to "don't pay" ?

Of course Im being sarcastic, but tonight it seemed like the machines were all switched to "dont pay" at Rincon. I spent 4 hours in the high limit VP section and all the machines were in use for $5 and up denominations. And in four hours there were only THREE handpays, quad 8s for $1250, quad 7s for $1250 and quad 2s for $2,000. The player getting the ducks sat on my left and when I congratulated him he told me it cost him $10,000 to get it.

I had no luck myself. Only three full houses. I'd like to say that I got four to the royal a half dozen times but only once I got three to the royal.... I mean it wasn't even close.

I even changed machines from $5 DDB to try my hand at $5 8/5 bonus and even that was bad.

I did try a little at the $1 DDB progressive and the royal did hit but for less than $4100 but the quad aces with kicker progressive was above $2200.

I was just amazed how ice cold the machines were.

There's no such thing as a hot or cold machine, only hot or cold players.
Ya know Arc... sometimes your lack of sense of humor is overwhelming.

But I have to point out that in four hours of play at 8 machines with the $5 denomination always in use, I find it pretty crazy that there were only three W2s.

Usually, at the $5 denomination I see W2s hit about one every 25 minutes. So we had 8 machines X 4 hours = 32 hours of play. And only 3 W2s. Say what you want... something was cold.

I call it karma....

The machines know who deserves to win. Obviously this LaLa character didn't deserve it.
lol

Funny thing is the slot machines being made now can have their payout percentage changed in a matter of minutes from the casino because they're server based game. It of course can't be changed while a player is playing on the machine.
well, video poker machines cant be tampered with... at least not legally-- as far as the dealing of the cards. but youre right about server based slots. and the paytables on video poker can be altered.

This coming from a gentleman who can't seem to understand the simple notion that postive EV on any given machine is calculated over the "LIFETIME" of said machine, which could be 10yrs,20yrs,and beyond. Not 2hrs,4hrs,or 6hrs, yet you continue to try to convince anyone that will listen that you consistantly beat the odds by applying simple mathematics.
No machine has a positive EV as it relates to a few hrs of play.

tomdoug, if your comment is directed to me-- Im really surprised.

It seems that some of you are taking my comment and my observation about last night very seriously. May I suggest, that you are taking my comment too seriously. Gosh-- Im not trying to sell you anything. Im just telling you that over four hours, with eight players at eight machines at the $5 denomination there were only 3 w2gs in that four hours. that's all folks. gosh. it's a good thing Im not referring you to all those videos of Rob Singer's strategies.

Not at all. You play as good as you can, and you either get lucky or not, thats it, end of story. Some will have you believe that the odds can be beaten short term. They cannot unless you play the same machine for years.

My comment was directed at Archimedes. I enjoy your posts immensely. You are one of the few level headed, smart, decent, common sense people on this forum.
