Can You BELIEVE Well Fargo Is Going to...

Nice to know we are not the only people on the planet that pay off cc charges in full.

Hmmm. My bank card(suntrust)is a combo debit/credit card. I have no idea how that came about, but thats whatit is. Whenever i'm checking out they always ask debit or credit. I always say credit, because sometimes there's a fee for saying/using debit. Don't ask me why or how it is,but it is. I never have been charged any fee with my card.

That is a Visa debit card. Not a credit card. The money comes right out of your account. You don't get a bill each month, do you?
Is this much different than airlines charging baggage fees or hotels charging resort fees? I'll change my behavior if need be.

just an explanation as to why the Bank is instituting the new charge now.

Thanks DD, now I know why banks want money, and want it now.

Banks looking for new ways to screw middle America out of their money, that is some shocking stuff.

Banks should lose money. That's why they are in business.

Two words: "credit union."
Yea,i know snidely. The transaction is treated as a CC purchse tho. I have to sign the slip,no pin# used.

"Of course I know DD is old enough to remember when the Bankers told us back in the 1970s that using ATM's wasn't going to eliminate jobs it was just going to make things more convenient for the customers. Of course we know now what happened: the banks replaced a lot of tellers with ATMs and started closing earlier."

I remember the good old days in the 70's when you had to wait 30 minutes in line to make a transaction & banks closed at 3pm and noon on Saturday and if you ran out of cash you couldn't access it until Monday morning. Now the banks are open until 6pm and all day on Saturday & with those evil ATM's you can now access your money 24 hours a day. The number of branches has increased from 30,000 to over 70,000 so employment has actually increased

I'd say the slimy bastards are just greedy and any cost increase no matter how insignificant is passed along to the consumers while any cost savings is passed on to the shareholders.

Actually these charges were brought about because the retailers lobbied dodd/frank to mandate lower merchant fees under the guise of lowering prices to the consumer which hasn't happened - so you should really whine to your local retailer

DonDiego is, indeed, old enough, . . . but he didn't pay attention. So far, DonDiego has managed to conduct himself in such a fashion that he has never had to, and therefore never has, used an ATM.

Everyone at his Bank here in Appalachia seems pleasant and helpful. But then everybody at his bank in Prescott, Arizona seemed pleasant and helpful too. Not like in the Big Cities, . . . although now that DonDiego thinks about it, . . . people in the Big Cities have usually been pleasant and occasionally even helpful. Or maybe it's just that poor old DonDiego isn't looking for ugliness or mean spirits.

WOWW DD,you've never used an ATM? REALLY? How in the world have you managed that after all this time. Incredible,my good man, incredible and i commend you.

Personally,i hardly ever use an ATM since the fees have gotten so high, actually now trying to think of last time i used one. Its gotta be several years now. Good for me i guess? If i need some cash i always just get cash back at the grocery store. What is the avg fee for an ATM withdrawal now? If i remember correctly, las time i used one it was 3 or 4 bucks. Did a quick calculation in my head and figured i was spending close to 50 bucks a month. Enough of that crap,so i quit.

DD,i still find it so hard to believe that you've never used an ATM.
