Cancer Documentary

I saw this documentary yesterday on Amazon about a Doctor (Burzynski) who has been curing certain "incurable" cancers for over 40 years despite many governmental and medical peer roadblocks. Very interesting.

Dr. Burzynski

Has anyone seen this? Any thoughts?
Dated 2011, I'd doubt it. So much bogus stuff out there.

Check out his name on reputable scientific sites, in juried medical journals, etc. Go to a library, preferably a medical school library, and ask the librarian to find you something on him.

I'll look later when I have time.
I've seen the reports on VICE news that showed the clnical results of some of the up and coming T-CELL biotech companies like KITE and JUNO. Unbelievable. There was a girl who had a golf ball sized tumor in her brain and had only a month left to live. After the t-cell therapy she fell into a coma and woke up 5 days later with the tumor completely eradicated. We are very close to curing cancer.
charlatan

Watch the documentary and listen to the patients and their stories.......I believe this guy is on to something and the government and big pharma tried to suppress, sabotage, and ultimately steal it. His peers who had the courage to speak believe the results are real.

You owe it to yourself to watch at least the first 5 minutes. I watched the entire 2 hours.
Wikipedia doesn't give it real high marks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burzynski_Clinic

I work in drug research/development and spend 15 years in oncology and consulted with a small startup a few years ago that were working on a novel treatment and let me ask you this hypothetical question:

My company's new cancer drug is in the clinic with test patients. These patients are stage 4. The drug is very expensive to manufacture. We give the drug to 100 patients. The patients take the drug for 6 months. Ten patients get well again. In ninety of the patients the drug has no efficacy and they get sicker and die. There is no way to tell ahead of time in which patients the drug will work.

I submit my data to you. Do you approve my drug for marketing? Is it a good drug?

This doctor's positive results may well be real but what's his actual cure rate? There are many stories on the Internet about how his guy's treatment didn't work and the patients didn't make out so well.

There are hundreds of small companies out there working on novel cancer treatments and many, many scientists are working overtime to find a cure. They all want the Nobel Peace Prize. I worked for a guy that two of his college classmates won Nobels and he's close to 80 years old now and he's still working to try and get his. He could easily afford to retire but money is not his motivation. He wants a legacy of being the guy that found a treatment for this dreaded disease.
A couple of years ago, there was a clinic in NY showing amazing results. Then the founder turned up dead in his swimming pool, the funding turned out to be laundered by Bernie Madoff, and the research results were unable to be duplicated elsewhere.
So many variables here, but what I do know is...

All produced media has biased opinions for and against.

I am healthy....thank you, God, so I've never had to seek medical treatement and when I have a minor health problem I would not trust the modern medicine industry or the ethics of our world for three seconds. When forced to go to the doctor with new insurance mandates, I was beyond pissed and relate it to rape and human rights violations. Fined by the insurance/government for refusing to give my blood to the government. Vegas had a dirty needle scandal and saw a report on the number one Michigan doctor falsely diagnosing with terminal cancer while owning the clinic and lab and creating false diagnosis killing people for insurance fraud. But he was also "curing" people and became the "go to" guy. Don't freaking touch my body! Sorry. So that is my opinion about modern medicine. I'll leave my health to God.

And my final theory, I really do think illness is a manifestation of your physical environment and mind set. Healthy people tend to think and feel their way to health and unhealthy seem to be more hypochondriac. I know a lot of "there is something wrong with me" kind of people. Is there some people that just have something bad happen to them. Yes. When it is your time, it is your time.

I am not a doctor type person. Please Lord continue to bless me with the need not find out. I have entered middle age and my body is starting To show age. I hope my spirit can keep up with time. Having a small issue right nOw. Dealing with it without doctors.

Btw, the immortal life of Henrietta lacks is a very good read about modern medicine and ethics. And I have a few times sought medical counsel and my ideas were confirmed when at 35 I followed "recommendations" and got a mammogram. They sent me to two follows up and then ordered a biopsy. I get to the specialist and without examining me, they asked why I was there and they didn't have anything to biopsy if they wanted to. Everyone just wanted to clear themselves from any malpractice so kept sending me on for no reason. Another issue, I was having pain. After a battery of clean tests, the doctor says he can set a surgery. I was like...the tests are clean. He said, you are in pain. We can do surgery. No, if nothing is wrong with me do not cut my body into pieces and create issues without valid reasons. This is why people have medical issues. That was my two minutes of trying to trust the medical world.
