Cannibis Cup looks like it be trouble.

High Times is sponsoring a Cannabis Festival this weekend, just north of Vegas on Indian land.
It's looking more and more like the Federal Government may attempt to intercede and shut it down. This, in turn, is turning the event into a rallying cry for people angry with the Trump administration in general. May turn into quite the media circus. It will be interesting to see if the Bundy supporters show up.
I'm tied up with the Rugby 7s tournament, so I won't be attending.
Whatever happened to the 10th amendment?
Ah shucks. I thought this thread would be about cannibals, due to Billy's title.

The issue might pertain to the event being hosted on Indian Land; it might turn into an interesting legal matter.

Federal Law prohibits transport, possession, use or distribution of marijuana on Indian Land. However, generally crimes on Indian Land involving only non-Indian people revert to State Jurisdiction.

The organizer of the event has announced marijuana will not be allowed at the event.

As long as those are the two responsible for the Resort and Parking Fees, I'm all for it.

Hard to tell these says what are Federal matters and what are State matters.

Near as I can tell:

Gay marriage - Federal
Transgender bathrooms - State
Marijuana - Federal and/or State
Guns - State mostly but some Federal, too
Gay wedding cakes - Federal but some states are getting into the act I think
snidely333, you forgot one ----- overall government stupidity-are both state and federal "matters"

Yep, and the NFL discourages wagering on its games.

The Founding Fathers tried to make it easy by including the Tenth Amendment in the Bill of Rights:
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Unfortunately, those within Government who "interpret" the Constitution often choose to behave other than how the authors intended them to.
You mean things like allowing women and the poor to vote? Freeing slaves and doing away with indentured servitude. Keeping a standing military? Amending their "more perfect" paper 27 times?
A Professor of mine once said there is a reason the Commandments were written in stone and the Constitution on paper.
