Casino criminals in Vegas - Interesting article

I came across this article about people who have been banned from Vegas casinos. It's surprising that there are only 33 people name in the Vegas Black book...i thought way more people would be banned.

These are people who are still alive. There were others who were in the book who fell out of the book when they passed away.

"in the Vegas Black book"

So is that where the phrase "Book 'em" came from ?

Rick
But still you'd still expect there to be more, considering the New Jersey list has pages and pages of banned cheats

Probably that's where they practice before heading to Vegas

You can see the whole blacklist right here on NV.GOV

Joey Cusumano might be the most famous in the list right now - former member of the hole in the wall gang; name mentioned in an old Life mag; he even has an IMDB.com page.

Question has already been answered about why there's relatively few people on the list. If anyone knows of a link to the PAST people in the book, I'd love to see.
Ron Harris is the most interesting person in that book. He worked for the Nevada Gaming Board as their computer guru. He did several ingenious things with his computer programming including a program that reprogrammed computer chips on slot machines when they went out in the field to test the chips.

The original 11 entrants in Nevada's Black Book:
1. Marshall Caifano: A high-ranking Chicago organized crime member suspected of committing numerous killings, later became the mob's Las Vegas enforcer
2. Louis Tom Dragna: One-time acting boss of the Los Angeles mob who unsuccessfully challenged the legality of the Black Book. He is the only one of the original 11 who remains in the Black Book
3. Carl James Civella: Mob boss in Kansas City, Mo., who was convicted of skimming and maintaining hidden interests in the Tropicana
4. Nicholas Civella: Another Kansas City mob boss convicted in the Tropicana case
5. Sam Giancana: Chicago mob boss, murdered gangland style, who was linked to the 1960 presidential election of John F. Kennedy and to a 1963 CIA plot to assassinate Cuban dictator Fidel Castro
6. Murray Llewellyn Humphreys: An alleged lieutenant of Chicago mobster Al Capone. Humphreys worked for Giancana
7. Joseph Sica: Los Angeles mobster involved in bookmaking, narcotics
8. Michael Coppola: New York City mob enforcer who was involved in drug trafficking and later moved to Miami, Fla.
9. John Louis Battaglia: A Los Angeles mob associate who was arrested with Dragna
10. Robert L. Garcia: A mob associate who lived in Southern California
11. Motel Grzebienacy: A mob associate who resided in Kansas City, Mo.

And an article about one guy trying to get out of the book: Frank Citro Jr.

And an article listing the 35 current (whenever it was published) members, 16 past members, and 7 nominees who didn't make the cut. nextshooter.com n.b. Mr. Citro does not appear on any of these lists.

DonDiego is pleased to report he does not appear in the Black Book.
Tony Spilotro was in the Black Book I believe.
These people were/are criminals.
