Casino News

The LVA via the LVRJ is reporting that the LVH has been sold (not sure if chilly has been notified) to a time share guy who may convert the hotel to a time share. The LVH is the first hotel I ever stayed at in Vegas back in 88 (it was the largest hotel in America then). It would be sad if this is the case

The LVA is also reporting that the Revel has filed for bankruptcy again and may close in mid August if a buyer is not found. It is being valued south of $300m. The AC Palace formerly the Hilton recently closed and the Showboat & Plaza are rumored to be closing. The Resorts is always on the bubble and Bally's is a dump.

Competition from other states is being blamed (notoriously bad customer service, my opinion) also has not helped. AC has managed to screw this up big time

I'm certain the recent vote to unionize will expedite the sale of Revel tremendously.

I don't consider it official until we have the Chilcoot seal of approval. I also don't believe that Steve Wynn was the driving force behind the building of the Bellagio unless Chilcoot says it's true.
More bad news for AC.

Union Says Showboat Casino To Announce Closing Today

I just checked Harrah's web site & tried to book a room at the Showboat for September & all dates were sold out.
I feel sorry for those losing their jobs.
The showboat is marginally profitable. I am surprised that they would close it and keep dumpy ballys open.
With the Hilton/Palace already closed & the likelihood of 2 more, AC is another death spiral.
