Casino Openings Back East Are, . . . Umm, . . . Different

The MGM National Harbor Casino Hotel, just 'cross the Potomac River from Alexandria, Virginia, opened on Thursday night.

The gaming facility was packed to capacity within an hour:
"OXON HILL, Md. — Maryland’s new era of casino gaming got off to a rousing start Thursday as thousands of people jammed the $1.4 billion MGM National Harbor when the doors opened a half-hour ahead of schedule.
By midnight, security officers stopped letting people in at some entrances because of the crowd."

The obligatory East Coast Fight Night was held. Spectators praised the pugilists enthusiasm but noted a lack of polished boxing skills.

And immediately subsequent to celebrating the Grand Opening, Prince George's County liquor board chairman was charged with DUI on his way home.

All in all, . . . a most auspicious event.
I guess they should put in the boxing ring like at the entrance of MGM Las Vegas. But they could actually put it to use in DC!
