Casino "Swag" (ie: collectibles)

How much Casino Swag do you have in your "collection"?

Do you consider it "valuable" or just fun? On display or put away in a drawer, box, etc? What is your most valuable Vegas collectible?

What are your intentions regarding your collection?

Tell us, or show us, or show and tell us.

At some future point, I intend to have a Vegas room, fully decorated with my swag. Alas, right now, most of it sits in boxes in my closets.
The nicest thing I was given was a Swarovski crystal vase (a big one too) for a Flamingo slot tourney (plus $50 Visa GC and free room/food) that I couldn't actually participate in as I was coming down w/meningitis. Went to the hospital instead. Gave mom the vase and she used the GC while caring for me in LV. Kind of a bitter memory. Most useless were the Aqua Globes I picked up at Silverton. Gave those to my mom as she has houseplants; instead of gradually watering them, they just dumped the water! My favorite swag that I actually use, is my leather Dooney purse and keychain I got from HET this year
I/we have zero Vegas Collectibles outside of Photos, which is all we need, I do have sport collectibles Mainly Football including my helmets from back in the day from Jr High ball up to College, and maybe a dozen signed game day Helmets most of them ex or current Cowboys...

Most valuable to me are the photos they used to almost always show up and take when you won even a minor jackpot. Of course now you can take your own, but that isn't as much fun. Some from slot tourneys, boat rides, etc. Looking at them, it shows my gambling age progression...LOL.

I have a pretty demitasse size cup from being served a capaccino (probably spelled that wrong too) at a VP machine at Bellagio. Didn't care for the beverage, but I love the cup and it has a place in my curio cabinet.

Lots of other junk in closets and drawers, destined to be thrown out I'm sure.
Besides chips, I'm fond of casino glass. I have quite a few shot glasses and ashtrays (fairly easy to pack for the plane home) and I have some slot machine glass panels (not as easy to pack for the plane home).
the only "Vegas" collectible that I have came from an event at Caesars... to watch Dan Marino, John Elway and Joe Montana play blackjack in front of a group of 150 guests. Before their "tournament" we each got our picture with the three of them.

then there was a drawing for an autographed jersey and helmet from each other them. six prizes in all. I did not win.

later that night at the craps table, one of the high rollers comes by the table showing the Montana jersey he got in the drawing and then announced to the table... "and when I went up to my room there was an autographed ball signed by all three of them."

when he left the table the rest of us (who were also at the event) said "wow, they do take care of the high rollers."

what we didnt know is that waiting in our rooms were also a football signed by all three. all 150 of us got them. so that ball plus the photo plus a plastic coin bucket filled with expired players cards and room keys and a few photos of royals and a few personal photos is the extent of my Vegas collection.

Oh, I also have photos and a video tape of my Vegas wedding. I guess that counts too. LOL

edited to add: one more item... from my host who like to do arts and crafts on the side. he got a picture frame and by hand decorated the entire frame with dice from Caesars, with the entire frame covered with dice. I also have a stick of dice from Caesars that WERE NOT CANCELLED. But I'll never tell anyone how I got them.
So how does one go and collect one of those cw's?
If you have enough money, they are for sale.
Gee,we really dont have much really. Wife has a hoodie jacket because she forgot to pack one nce. I have a few hats.
Oh and we have a coin cup from every casino that was on the strip in 1999. That was our first vegas trip, staying at the Maxim.
We left maxim,up to the strip, turned right on LV Blvd and walked north all the way up to to riv and crossed the steet and walked all the way down to luxor. Crossed street again to trop and back up to ballys and maxim. Took all day and stopped at every one to collect cups and played a little at most. Gave us our first dose of vegas distance perspective,"but look, mirage is only up another block" ,yea right..........20 minutes later you're there.
Besides that, umm, some chips and lots of pics, thats about it.
