Casino Royale Players Club worth it?

The Casino Royale indicates $50 free play to new club members. I have only gone there before for the $1 Michelob beers and $1 margaritas, but is it worth it to gamble there and join the players club? I am a low roller.
Free is free. But there is often fine print.

If you play at Casino Royale you should get the card, they will give some comp. And for $50.oo FSP it will cost you 5' to 10' of your time in Las Vegas. They will give you a player card and a voucher for FSP and you can only play on about 5 or 10 machines on the right side of the front desk. These machines only give you money if you hit the jack pot, most people will run through the FSP and leave. It just looks like the deal at Fremont-spin the will if you can hit the Royal. I play at Casino Royal every time I come to Las Vegas, maybe one hour or so. I got the offer 2 days comp every month but never stay there, but I will take the food comp anytime. They have a food court with Subway, some pizza and Dunkin Dougnuts and next door also Denny . I like to play BJ and BJ Switch with $5 or $10 a hand at Casino Royale , but most I will play at P/V $25 a hand because the give me the room overthere. It costs money to go to Las Vegas so I try to save all money for gambling bankroll. Some of the hotels that I got free room on the Strip are P/V, Mirage, Ti, and Casino Royale, most casinoes in downtown but GN because I never play there. I got better offers at the Strip so I usually stay at the Strip and I am a low roller. Have fun and enjoy the time you have in LV ,and win some money.
Go for the drinks and ignore the FSP.

Thanks for all the info.
Casino Royale is about as good as anything else on the strip. The $50 slot play is not just for new members...you are eligible for it like once a month or something. Its largely a joke because you have to use the designated machines...but so what - its a fun way to kill 15 minutes. They also give you a little coupon book good for lots of other things in the casino...drinks, subway, Blackjack bonuses, and slot bonuses.

Not true...the monthly free play is available on any machine in the casino through the player's card reader at the top of the machine with your PIN. There is immediate cashback with this method as well. I usually get at least $100 monthly there and only play a couple hours or so every couple of months. Also the food comp dollars never expire and are also good at the Outback upstairs.

I pay them a short visit almost every trip. The room offers don't interest me, but there is monthly freeplay and, as mentioned above, the food comps never expire. I think I currently have about $200 to spend on food.

To be honest, I only use the food comps for Subway vouchers -- but it's nice to have the option if I'm pressed for time or just want a freebie. I drop in, I play Spin Poker, I get a free sandwich and I leave. (This usually happens toward the end of a trip, if my priorities have, uh ... realigned.)

...realigned.. I love it!

The "$50 free play" at Casino Royale that anyone who walks in off the street can get is NOT real freeplay that can be downloaded to any machine. It can only be used on the gimmick promotional machines and the only way to turn it into real cash is to hit a jackpot (very unlikely). They used to give a very strong funbook sheet with good video poker bonuses, but no more. Is it worth checking out? It depends on how you want to spend your Vegas time. If you're short on time, it isn't a must-do, that's for sure.
