Casinoboss Answers Your Questions: Part III

What do you believe the eventual fate of Fontainebleu to be? I do not think it will ever be completed. I look for an implosion in a few years when land value is back up and something else to be built there.

Hello Boss - good to see you again.

1. Do you think the Cosmo will be successful (more than Aria) ?
2. How do those "independant" casinos work comps (like Cosmo, TI, Tropicana) ?, will they offer more free play, free rooms ?
3. Have any casinos ever thought of offering discounted Dollar slot credit ...i.e. offer me to Buy $1500 slot credit for $1200 (or discounted rate) - this would get the casino cash - give me slightly more credit - which I am sure to lose and more.

For the record - LVS lost our business...like many we got the 2 to 4 night free and free play - well no more offers.
If we pay for a room we will spend the $200.00 at Wynn or Cosmo or Aria.

1. It will be interesting to see their Q1 numbers. They're clearly successful from a headcount perspective. Every time I've been in there it's been pretty full. I don't know if that translates to gaming win, though. And they clearly have a lot of overhead. I definitely think it's better/more successful than Aria - which I don't care for.

2. My mantra is... "it depends." I don't think it has much to do with whether or not they are independent or not. It has more to do with what type of player you're going after. Local, regional, destination. High, middle, low worth. ETc.

3. I thought I heard of someone doing that before but nothing specific comes to mind. Certainly on the table games side, they offer rebates on loss as a regular practice for high worth players.

In speaking with dealers in the high limit area at the Cosmopolitan, I found that quite a few are moonlighting from their regular jobs in other casinos, like the MGM properties and CET properties.

Is that allowed by the main casinos who employ them full-time? Thinking of branding and uniqueness--especially when it comes to high end areas--you want to see "exclusivity" as opposed to "Hey, I just saw you dealing $10 BJ at El Cortez, or Imperial Palace!"

Yes, very common. It is pretty rare that you get a really good full-time job like Cosmo, Wynn, etc. right off the bat. It's normally a process of working your way up in 2 jobs.

E.g., Start part-time at Golden Gate and El Cortez at the same time. Get full-time at El Cortez after awhile. Start part-time at Boulder Station at the same time. Get full-time at Boulder, go part-time at IP. Full-time at IP, PT at Monte Carlo. FT at Monte Carlo, PT at Wynn. FT at Wynn. Retire.....

I agree with you.

When asked if you are Rob singer, you have stated, "No" on more than once occasion, and in more than one "casinoboss" thread.

On or about August 8, 2010, in a column on his website, "Rob Singer" wrote,....

"......the fact that I am casinoboss, but I have never myself written a post from that handle. As I've explained several times, I have a friend in LV that posts either what he/she THINKS I will say, and when I'm available I pass on my input for him/her to post. I do it as a spoof (and it's turned into a major one at that) to both punish the idiot moderators - who pretend that any poster who thinks anything like me, is me; and I deliver answers that anyone could easily answer with very little thought, because whenever you tell confused gamblers what they want to hear, you da man! ....."

Would you care to comment on the column?

What is your relationship with Rob Singer?

Are you his puppet, as he implies, writing what you think he would choose to say, relaying his words in your messages?

Are you indeed "spoofing" those who read this thread?

I don't know anything about Rob Singer except from what people write on these threads. I am not him. Never met him. No affiliation whatsoever.

i really have no idea who this person is either and ive seen his name posted here 98324792742934 times as if he is some sort of "celebrity" but its completely lost on me. i once started to ask about it but figured the answer would just make my eyes roll so far back in my head that id never be able to view the pretty lights of vegas again.
CB's answers are far too concise and direct to be Singers.

CB, I too appreciate the insight you provide the board.

I am so confused.
Just this morning, Rob Singer wrote in a forum thread elsewhere:
Quote

Oh BTW, my buddy in LV started up the casinoboss thread again before I knew he was. But from yesterday on I was/I'll be passing on the input for him to post once more. It's amazing how those minions will praise whatever info we give as gospel simply because they're so stupid and can't answer their own questions themselves! The RoadTrip answer I just gave is what it's all about. We keep away from delving into the details about what I'm doing when the question pops up. Just give the poster the denials and that's all. And I love mocking those idiot moderators over there.

Whose credibility should I, and others, be questioning, that of Casino Boss, Rob Singer, or BOTH? It is apparent to those that regularly visit other forums that Singer, or you, are being less than truthful.

Your "answers" are usually realistic.

Of course, a knowledgeable, articulate, and intelligent person with experience at casino play and several visits could answer the majority of questions posed in a convincing manner.

I'm sitting on the fence as to whether you are indeed being completely truthful, or if Singer is indeed "spoofing" this forum and LVA.

I want to give the benefit of doubt, the old "innocent until proven guilty" approach.

Singer has confessed to being "casino boss", and offered his reasons for doing so.

I admit to being confused by this contradiction.

Caveat emptor.

I watched the "Undercover Boss" show when the CEO (or whatever) from the MGM was on. At the end of the show he said something to the effect, "Our employees are our most valuable assett". I about lost my lunch when he sat there and said it with a straight face. The slot machines are the only "Employees" that you care about. They don't call in sick, they don't bitch about not getting a raise in six years+, no unemployment to pay, no benefits to pay, etc, etc.

I was wondering why you didn't answer my question when I went back to look at it and saw that it had been hijacked. I don't know how in the world it happened but somehow it did and it even had my email address posted.

Now that it has been fixed, can you give me an answer please.
