Cecil the Lion

While I don't wish physical retaliation on this asshole (Walter Palmer), I hope he suffers financial ruin and possibly a lot of jail time. This asshole paid $55,000 to lure this lion off the reservation by having a dead animal on the hood of the hunter's vehicle. Once outside the reservation he shoots it with an arrow and follows the poor thing for the next 40 hours before killing it and beheading it.

All of this to have a big game trophy on his wall.

I am totally willing to bet he knew damned good and well this was a protected lion. Also I just can't understand killing for the sake of killing. Don't get me wrong I know where food comes from and I kill plenty of fish and eat plenty of Bambi's but what this guy did is just some guy getting his rocks off by lording his superiority over an animal. To make matters worse he did this 40 something times before. I don't wish him any more ill will than what has come his way. Much like O.J. his reputation is ruined. For people like them that is the worst punishment.
I am not going to let this extremely rare opportunity to agree 100% with Roulette Man pass.

I agree 100%, Roulette Man.
I'm kind of shocked a Minnesota dentist has that much jack to throw around

And who kills something with a name?

Yogi the Bear
Kermit the Frog
Cecil the Lion
Tony the Tiger

You are not hunting if you are killing these guys...

But they did whack Tony the Ant.
That's funny forky!

Is this some kind of alternate universe? Chilly agrees with RM and forky is funny!
Bizarro World?
So, If someone lures a coyote out of a suburban neighborhood and kills it does your outrage stay at the same pitch? I have some personal experience with this and it IS the same thing. I'm not saying it's right. I'm not saying it's wrong either.

I have never felt the allure of big game hunting. The "sport" doesn't really exist anymore in the true sense. I believe what is left are these "canned" hunts. Pretty pathetic really.
I wonder if the urge to destroy a man over his actions that do not directly impact you equate to the urge to destroy an animal for sport.
