Cecil the Lion

Some of us just hate dentists.

So, If someone lures a coyote out of a suburban neighborhood and kills it does your outrage stay at the same pitch? I have some personal experience with this and it IS the same thing. I'm not saying it's right. I'm not saying it's wrong either.

I have never felt the allure of big game hunting. The "sport" doesn't really exist anymore in the true sense. I believe what is left are these "canned" hunts. Pretty pathetic really.

Not a good analogy. The lion was lured out of a protected wildlife reservation. Taking out a coyote or even a mountain lion, because they represent a threat to a neighborhood is a completely different scenario.
They should make the dude go hunting with Dick Cheney.
DonDiego concurs with the majority that it is sad that anyone feels the need or authority to kill wild animals for sport.

And, as always, DonDiego supports enforcement of whatever Laws are on the books. He would hope that the hunter and his accomplices are subjected to appropriate Zimbabwe Justice; he trust it will be unpleasant, but not as unpleasant as, f'rinstance, being boiled alive in a cooking pot.

Time Magazine has reported that the US Government is "investigating" the matter. DonDiego cannot fathom how US Law, beyond possible extradition, would apply, and he hopes no one in authority just invents something for public adulation.

DonDiego opposes vigilante justice involving harm to the dentist beyond no longer patronizing his business and a general shunning.

The Public demands more than "a general shunning". President Obama should order the US Poet Laureate to create negative poetry about Dr. Walter Palmer.

I hate to mention it (not really), but the guy is also a big Republican whale.

I don't think so. I read he donated just $10K to Romney which is sort of minnow status these days. He spent five times that much for Cecil's head.

Here. I'll get the poetic humiliation started.

Ode to Palmer

There once was a mean little Dentist.
Big game he continually menaced.
He shot poor old Cecil,
Chased him down with a diesel.
It's worse than killing his hygienist.
