Cecil the Lion

Man goes to foreign land to hunt a lion.

He pays locals who he believes is taking him to an area where hunting lions is allowed and that he has paid for all the hunting permits he is supposed to have. (US man does not know the local hunting regulations and is paying for the professionals to take care of it)

Local guides lead man to place where lion can be shot.

Man kills lion and finds out it was a famous one that was protected.

Meanwhile, aborted babies are being sold for body parts and no one cares.

People are furious at the lion killer?????

No wonder this country is going to hell, when lions are more important than humans.

Oh you mean the stuff allowed by the National Institutes of Health Revitalization Act of 1993, right? Maybe Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell shouldn't have voted for it. Maybe Republican Senator Orrin Hatch shouldn't have been a co-sponsor.

Well there's only about 30,000 lions left and over 7 billion people. I was just thinking the other day that I wish there were more lions and fewer people so this may work out for me.

Many don't care about the "big picture" affects on wildlife from such paid hunts. If more lions are alive and healthy because of legal such hunts, then they should continue. $55,000 and one dead lion will protect and allow for many more healthy lions.
