Celebrity sightings

You never know. You might run into Lenny Dykstra.
Pete Rose was always at Field of Dreams sports shop. I watched him berate a guy and then swear at him for not paying the money for his autograph he just wanted to say hello and meet him. He was very rude and didn't care who heard him. I looked at him and gave him a look only a momma could give. HE shut up after that. I just think he is arrogant and an asshole to put it mildly.

We saw him again at the deli that was across from the FOD, he walked thru and people looked and waved. He was very rude to them, and ignored them. The waitress that waited on him must have known him because he said he would have the usual but he was rude to her also.

He must have forgotten about the people that bought the tickets to see him play and bought his memoribila.

'Ole fat butt does have an attitude in his later years. For quite a number of years he was the man about town in Cincy and he is SO desperately wanting to get in the HOF before he croaks.

In other words: Rose just found out his sh!t DOES stink and he doesn't like it.
Pete Rose is a jerk!

I paid $400 at Field of Dreams for him to sign some crap for my Reds fan brother-in-law. Got to sit beside him in the hall while they took pictures. He stopped signing to take a cell call. After the call I tried to chat a little with him, tell him my BIL went to high school with him in Cinti.... he was like: "Whatever, next!"

Years ago, in the '80's, I was quietly playing $2 blackjack at Caesars. Telly Savalas joined me. The 2 of us played for hours as a crowd gathered. His bets were significantly greater than mine...and I was not the one who offered cutie pies lollipops. He was charming, as was I.

On April 8, Easter this year, I was with my grandchildren staying at the Palms when Russell Brand, who was in the middle of filming a movie, took a break. A large group of scantily-clad young ladies (and some other folks) had gathered to catch a peek at the goings on. Russell spotted Abbie and Camden....asked their names.....and came over to where we were standing and embraced them both. My granddaughter handed me her cell phone so I could take a picture. Gramma did not have her glasses on, nor could I figure out how to work the camera aspect of her cell. I ultimately took a gloriously perfect shot of my finger which was covering the lens. The grandkids will forgive me for this transgression in a few decades. Mr. Brand was as sweet as could be.

Back in the '80's, my husband was mistaken by an excited tourist for Johnny Bench and was asked to sign an autograph. He accommodated the guy with a smile and Johnny's signature. I hope the fella hasn't tried to sell it on Ebay.

November 1985 Golden Nugget, Alan King, nice guy.

Late 80'a through the late 90's every July in South Lake Tahoe for the celebrity golf championship. Friday and Saturday night the casinos are packed to the rafters with celebs, mostly athletes. Back then the celeb to normal ratio was crazy, you could pretty much talk and gamble with any hall of famer from any sport, no problem.

Haven't been to Tahoe in years, I hear they make more of an effort to keep the rabble separate from the specials these days.
Someone mentioned Redd Foxx, and it reminded me when he was a "greater" at either the International or Las Vegas Hilton. He had this compulsion for playing Keno. In those days, they made you collect after each game, but for him, they allowed him about 25 games before he had to turn in his tickets. After all, a greeter couldn't be leaving his post and going to the Keno area after every game. Besides, he was losing heavily and wanted his action.

If I'm not mistaken, heavyweight boxing champ Joe Louis was also a greeter at the Hilton. As an aside, I used to go to a sports bar in Calabasas, CA and Jerry Quarry used to stop by to see a friend of his who watched the games there. Since I knew his friend and was seated with him, I got to meet Quarry. I used to buy him a few drinks every time. After about the third time he was there, a friend of mine who I bowled with came in when he found out they showed the Giants games. When Jerry walked in and sat down by me, I called my friend over to meet him. My friend couldn't believe it that I was introducing him to Quarry, he thought I was kidding until he got to the table. He was very impressed!

I'm really sorry but I couldn't help but laugh at this, sounds exactly like something I would do

Joe Louis also did some greeting at Caesars, they have a bronze statue of him in the casino.
I once saw Elvis, but that when when I used to drink.
I haven't seen him since I stopped.
