Center strip suggestion for watching college football

I'm staying with friends at Casino Royale over Labor Day Weekend. Last year we watched games in the Linq at a casino sports bar. It was fine, but I'm hoping to find a place that won't charge $16 for a vodka tonic and $8 for a beer. Yep, they metered in the booze with a single costing $12, and a double was $16. I know it's Vegas, and call me cheap if you feel a strong need to do so.

The difficult issue is finding such a place with sports book access. Suggestions are appreciated.
Does the Casino Royale have a sportsbook? I remember walking into the Casino Royale on my way to the Venetian and getting the featured beer of the month for $1 and other beers for $1.50 or $2.

If they don't have a sports book, then I think you are going to have a hard time finding a cheap place within a short distance of a sports book. One other thought is the Venetian sports book has where you can download a sportsbetting app on your phone or tablet. You could prepay and get the app, then make your bets from either the Casino Royale or another sports bar.

Caesars will give drink tickets based on much you bet, not sure what the formula is though.

Many sports books used to be generous with their drink tickets. The last time I asked for a drink ticket was at the Luxor. I had made a $55 bet. The teller told me that usually the minimum bet is $100 (this was over ten years ago). He asked me if I was staying at the hotel, and upon presenting my room key, he gave me one drink ticket. He also asked to see my sports bet ticket, where he then wrote down that a drink ticket had been issued.

Most sports books (due to their bean counters) have become very stingy with their tickets.

The Mirage has a fairly nice Sports Book.
...... don't know about drink situation though.

Rick
Wynn requires a $300 bet for a voucher for say, a Bud Light.
Its difficult to use the words "cheap" and "mid-strip" in the same sentence.

Sports book bars notoriously charge an arm and a leg for drinks. I had the worst Bloody Mary of my life in the Paris sports book and it cost $12. Go into the casino and get your drink from a bar on the floor.

All of the Koval Drive casinos behind the Flamingo will be much more reasonably priced than anything on the strip....Ellis Island and Tuscany have sports books and plenty of TV's. Tuscany has a massive bar that easily seats 40 people. The "Glamour" factor isn't going to be as nice.

Thanks for all the ideas. Keep the coming!

I haven't been to Tuscany, but the Ellis Island suggestion is great. They also have the micro-brewery plus the barbecue restaurant. I will assume they have long since gotten their act together after the barbecue restaurant was shut down by the Health Department for horrible conditions.

Boilerman, any highlights from your trip...hope y'all had fun.
