I didn't watch, but apparently over two decades ago Harry Reid opposed immigration reform. Around that same time, Rick Perry supported Al Gore for president. And Dick Cheney opposed invading Iraq. And Dennis Miller was funny.

I have to disagree with one of your points: IMHO Dennis Miller was never very funny.
