Checking out of a hotel

Never had a problem with tv checkout and almost always use it. But do make sure you always check your charges in some way before you leave! Last trip I discovered a bar charge for almost $150 that was made on our first day in town - but turned out to have been made an hour before we even checked in (apparently by the previous room occupants). There was a 3 hr delay in posting it as a room charge, so it ended up on our bill rather than theirs. The hotel immediately removed it when I said it was incorrect, but had we not checked first I think it would have been much more difficult to rectify after the fact.
I'm old fashioned. I go to the front desk and check out. Sometimes in this digital age, it's nice to see a human being.

Why wait in line for no reason?

I do not remember reading about this before. If you left your credit card number when checking in, is it necessary to check out by TV or at the front desk on your day of departure? Can you just leave before check out time? Not that I would do it, but just curious.

Sure. That's why they get your cc number on the front end, in case you leave with charges outstanding.

Believe it or not, I haven't waited in line for my check-in/out at any Vegas casino. Likely, because I check in after 11:00 PM and check out before 6:00AM.

Is that because you are a Chef and not a Waiter?

Hi I saw something on the AFB last week about people stealing your information off the TV like your CC after you check out.

Appearing nightly at the Riveria, shows at 8:00PM and 11:00PM
I very rarely check the TV, and just leave. But I'm fully comped and expect the hotel to pick up everything except long distance calls which I rarely make from the hotel. Also, if I get room service where they automatically charge and 18% gratuity, I expect to be charged for that.

E-mail, snail mail, e-tail, bank, cc, hotel front desk...humans have our info.
