Chicago Little League's national title vacated

When a true black leader travels to a place like Chicago and condemns the cheating at Jackie Robinson Little League, then the black community and culture will begin to heal and things will begin to improve.

I'm from Chicago and I agree the title should be vacated if the Jackie Robinson team had players from outside its agreed upon boundaries......the this appears to almost certainly be the case.

You should hear the discussion on talk radio with people trying to justify the cheating. Some folks are saying Jackie Robinson deserved to go, even with recruitment violations, because their kids are poor and do not have all the financial advantages of the "rich kids" from Las Vegas.

Cheating is cheating, Lying is lying, and integrity lost can rarely be re-gained......This story is no different than Bryan Williams and the Little League did the right thing. If they give Jackie Robinson a pass because the kids are poor and cute, they would have no integrity whatsoever. I really think NBC will have an integrity problem because they somehow think Lyin' Bryan will get his integrity back after a 6 month vacation. Does a news program need integrity to get ratings? I think MSNBC proves it does.

Well said.

Here in Vegas the story is being followed very closely.

The most fun I ever had playing baseball as a kid wasn't at the Little League field it was in my side yard or at the local playground with just other kids and no adults. ESPN coverage and money have corrupted the sport and the "adults". This is the 3rd or 4th scandal since ESPN coverage was ramped up. I guess if I put my money where my mouth is I'll stop watching it.

I suspect there is widespread cheating in the LL tourney, particularly in the overseas teams where it is difficult to monitor.

Back here in NYC my friend was coaching LL and they were playing a suspect organization. He showed up with a UPS man who used his device to verify the addresses of the players. There were so many bogus addresses the team had to forfeit

We've had a bunch of great Little League teams from my small town of Brownsburg. Two teams advanced to the Little League World Series, and two teams advanced to Regional Championship games. Lance Lynn (Cardinals starting pitcher) played on one team, Drew Storen (Nationals Closer), and Tucker Barnhart (Reds backup catcher) played on those teams.

I coached Brownsburg LL baseball for years, and there is no cheating here.

Brownsburg did play in the World Series when Danny Almonte was found to be approximately 26 years old while playing for the cheating Bronx team.
