Chicago violence

Black Lives Matters supporters continue to prove, by killing each other at magnificent rate, that they don't really buy into their own slogan.
I won't even bother to mention that a lot of the violence is in the neighborhood of two quite prominent Chicago residents......the reverend Jesse Jackson and one Barack Obama. I'd love to have one of them interviewed about it. Or for that matter have Rahm Emmanual address it. Won't happen. Now if all of this was happening in Donald Trump's neighborhood do you think the press might ask him about it? Or if Sean Spicer were mayor would he be asked about it?
Yes. It sadly is not lost on me that obama and Hillary are from Chicago and that "the first black president" and the first actual black president both have been in power for nearly 30 years and yet just look at the progress. ?????? Isn't the first thing a person does with power and resources is help their own.

you guys blamed the president for 8 years for local law enforcement problems in Chicago....and so did our president's replacement. In fact the new president has said such violence will end on his watch. So are the Obama crybabies going to hold him to that?.... or are they going to continue to cry about Jessie Jackson?
I've blamed Obama for the escalation of terrible race relations leading to mostly an increase of black on white violence across the US. I've blamed Jesse and Al for pointing the finger of blame at any white that walks the earth, while black cultural problems are the problem. In the black community, it's acceptable to drop out of school, it's acceptable to have 3 babies by 3 fathers by the age of 21. A lack of respect for others, and especially whites, is rampant in the black community. Drugs are common.

And then, noone is willing to talk about the problems and truths, which is integral to solving these problems, for fear of being called racist. And the problems continue, the killing grow, and the slums expand.

I would challenge PJ to find a time when Boiler directly blamed Chicago on Obama. Most of the Chicago blame falls with local politicians, and the black community itself.

Someone, please pry PJ's lips off of Obeyme's ass...

Complaining about black people in Chicago isn't a solution. Complaining about the people who have dedicated their lives to improving poor inner city communities is not a solution. Its just complaining and crying - and lets be honest. That's all you've offered on the topic - ever.

This thread is a perfect example.

If you give a crap about this issue then I would invite you to volunteer in your local inner city to try and make a difference and show a path for people who started their lives with far less than you did. If you don't give a crap about this issue and just want to make broad statements about communities you aren't the least bit familiar with then start more threads like this.
My background is in social work and education if it isn't usually obvious. I do volunteer in these areas when I can find a decent program and am actively involved in church at home, not in vegas. I never speak about an issue I don't know about. I learn from others expertise.

I have not finished reading, but implore people to read "sing me back home". My mom grew up poor, white at an all black school. I have several family members that date exclusively biracially and my beloved nephew is biracial. Being called racist due to the "republican" topic bothers me because my entire life, my mom has Always said poverty is the only discrimination. Studying or understanding the "poor white" is not much different if not sometimes as puzzling as black issues. They are just poverty issues and have nothing to do with race. That movie I wrote about on the other thread "Grand Canyon". Remove the race and the issues are the same. Read that book and you will read the same issues from a poor white vantage. Heck, that tv series w the "making of a murderer". Not making comment about his guilt or innocence. Just the relation between police and poor white.

In the New York 80s, not unnoticed, although trump was not in politics his hometown, the mayor did have to clean up a wildly out of control city. It was done and has sustained. Even compton in la. Chicago has the aforementioned money and power access. It is beyond wrong that "two shits" have not been given. Any great leader and compassionate one most certainly uses his leadership to help his home front. Beyond telling.

My own Midwest Mayberry is also having the very same issues that caused this grief within the "fly over" states. The issues have affected family members greatly. I have called for the head of our very own political advisors as well and our town has experienced great discourse and action. Has the internet and a desensitization of violence swept our nation, yes. Is it the job of our leaders to look at the issues of the people and address them, yes. That is why they are leaders. I cannot remember a murder growing up. One every ten years. My Mayberry type town has drive bys, multiple murder and daily od....of "rich" and poor.
We need a Chicago Reality TV series that gives a run down of the weekly murders with real crime scene footage and interviews...Who are the victims? Who are the perps? Bring in the Detectives, Teachers, politicians, gangsters. Let's get the straight poop. At the end of season 1 we can have a nationwide vote on who to fire or jail and how much money we spend to fix it. I call it 'Dancing with Real Chicago Murders'.
