Chicago violence

I'm trying very hard to stay civil but some here make that exceedingly difficult. PJ, I'm pretty sure ignoring the problem and hoping it goes away, is NOT the answer. Rahm and Rauner should try something....anything. All they are doing is nothing! PJ should further note that I am criticizing both the Democrat Rahm AND the Republican Governor Rauner. I extend my criticism to black lives matter AND Jesse, Al and the other race baiters. PJ, have you heard ANYTHING from Senators Durbin or Duckworth? I know I haven't. These fools have all kinds of comments on 109 people being inconvenienced across the country but with hundreds of their constituents literally being murdered, they are mute.
Here is the solution my leftist friend.....LEADERSHIP! You know, actually doing something. After 8 years of Obamanation, it's a tough concept to understand. Obamanation lived in one of these neighborhoods. What did he say or do to help. That's right! The liberal answer to anything difficult.....NOTHING, he hoped it would go away. It didn't. Rahm's famous line is never let a crisis go to waste. He's not following his own advise.

Rant ended.
Great - thanks. The failed policy was "nothing" and successful policy can be defined as "something".. What a great education this has been.
Apparently PJ does not like lvfritz's answer, so let's hear PJ's solution....
He wants to see how many more people get shot this weekend. He just doesn't seem to grasp the concept that the mayor and governor are PAID to solve problems NOT to ignore them.
The politicians, press and race baiters have all shown me what they think of a certain group of their constituents.
PJ....what's your over/under on Chicago's shootings this weekend?

Probably about the same as they are in Chicago's immediate neighbor, Gary, IN. The one you don't care about.

I tend to think crime and drugs are attributes of areas that suffer immense poverty.

For years Democrats have tried to build bridges into the inner cities with more education, counseling, financial assistance and employment outreach - as well as organizing those communities to have a bigger voice in the government. All of these "nothing" efforts are typically ridiculed and opposed by Republicans who classify them as big government handouts to people too lazy to work.

But Fritz articulates the Republican alternative perfectly - cry about Democrats' efforts while offering no solution of their own. See healthcare for another example.

The cities get to choose between leaders who have the courage to try and address problems and those who just cry and complain like little girls. Ergo they get Rahm Emmanuel. When someone from Fritz's preferred leadership group can articulate a better alternative perhaps the people will choose them. In the meantime they probably don't care to hear from suburban couch quarterbacks who know nothing of their environment.

What part of Rauner being a Republican is it that you don't understand?

Have 700 people been murdered in Gary? Somehow I don't think so. Someone here is a maroon, and it ain't me.
It's all about accountability for teachers and students. We can't slow things for hard workers to accommodate the lazy. When someone acts up, regardless of color, there must be ramifications. This was not the case in my hometown for many years, as teachers, school management, and the board were scared to death of being tagged racist. The the percentage of black kids utilized the race card daily, and they ran the show. This has changed, and all students are now better off.

We have moved so far to the Left that some believe the concept of corporal punishment is crazy. It's not crazy, and it works. We should instituted such policy once again.

The Chicago teachers fight change thru their attacks on charter schools

They feel it is more important to maintain the teachers status quo, than educate the students
Still waiting for PJ's solutions to these issues..........

So the Black inner-city school teachers are afraid to discipline black students out of fear of being labeld a racist.

Yeah.

Like I said - if you want to understand inner city issues consult a suburban white guy who has no clue what inner city culture is like.
