chicken fried steak sandwiches

Jatki99,
Biscuits & Gravy is nothing but a paste made of flour and water,
with tiny bits of sausage and some black pepper.
Give me a break. It's no more than Glorified Dog Food.
Thanks for the invite though.
BTW, ..... Chicken Fried Steak is just another way to add more cholesterol to your diet than we need.

Rick
If you've eaten sausage gravy made with water and little meat, then I understand why you don't like it.

Oh no, not at all. Gravy is actually flour and the grease leftover from whatever, you may be cooking. No, not good for chol., but fantastically flavorful(the best stuff, usually IS the worst for you. If all you've ever had is flour and water crap, no wonder you don't like it. A good gravy combines the oil crteated with flour, milk(or cream, my favorite) and any seasonings one prefers. Salt, pepper, bay leave or whatever.

Flour and water?? That's soo far from a good gravy not even funny.
Yeah, I always skip the gravy. Usually ask for it on the side, then leave it in the bowl.

I've never had ANY type of that white-ish floury goop no matter how it's made.
There are way too many culinary delights and choices for me to waste my calorie intake
on something that doesn't even look appealing to begin with.

I like white gravy on chicken croquet, but I almost never seem that served anywhere anymore. Used to be my go to meal at HoJos if it wasn't Fried Clam night.

Wish I still had my rock 'em sock 'em robots, that was always the coolest toy. Actually the price of all those old toys is getting pretty pricey. Unfortunately my mom, sold and/or trshed a bunch of my stuff with a yard sale, out in in the trash. She kicks herself now (me too) for doing that. My brother had a huge baseball collection she gave away as well.

They bring about 40-50 bucks on Ebay.

The biggest disappoint of all the things I had as a kid, I had this book and got it when it was first published, it was one of my favorite books. She says it's still in the house somewhere but can't find it, probably another yard sale victim.

Lol. Now we've really derailed this thread. But yes. I love that my family is so out of style, they aRe back in style. I go shopping at my grandmas and mother in laws and steal all the vintage Pyrex and mason jars among other things. Some old Tupperware is pretty cool too. I have a dish problem. I had some great old books too but my mom threw them out. I saved a few dick and Jane readers from her but had an awesome music book from school and she threw it out. A boyfriend had a very old copy of war of the worlds I ended up with. No clue where it went.
