Chiefs Jovan Belcher allegedly shoots girlfriend

Which they have pronounced her dead. He drove to the Chiefs workout facility and turned the gun on himself in the parking lot.

RIP to his family and the family of his girlfriend!
A terrible tragedy. I feel sorry for the woman's family and I cound not image the horror and shock of the general manager and coach that he ended his life in front of them.

I sure it will haunt them for the rest of their lives.
Nothing alleged about it - swift and just punishment.
I heard that he has a 3 month old son with the g/f. Such a shame. What was he, 24 years old?

ALLEDGEDLY? He blew her fuckin' brains out and then went to Arrowhead Stadium to blow HIS brains out in front of the coaches! Really nice guy to do things properly!

Well your kinda being a "prick" about a tragedy Bags.

We never know what goes on in young folks lives that we "think" have everything one could possibly want. The human brain is very very hard too understand at times.

How bout we show alittle compassion. He obviously was troubled on this day.

Compassion is not a word that occurs to me here.

If he had taken only his own life, that would be one thing. But to do what he did to the mother of his 3-month old daughter?!?!?

There can be no excuse for that. None. Ever.

End of discussion as far as I'm concerned.

I remember when my favorite SNL actor, Phil Hartman, was the victim of a murder suicide by his wife. she was not an evil person - just very depressed beyond any level I am capable of fathoming. my understanding is that it is a very real sickness.

I don't know the circumstances of the young KC player ... But I suspect it is something similar. Not all tragedies have a villain...sometimes everyone is the victim. Perhaps more facts should come out before we render judgement.
Depression is a really f*cked up thing.

J
I really wonder how the Chiefs organization handles this today? If the player had been killed in an accident or murdered, it would be a whole different story. I don't know if they are going to ask for a moment of silence for him? After all, he committed murder.
