Christie To Veto NJ Internet Gambling Bill

No I don't.
But what if you "needed" to make a bet and there was no casino nearby?
I never have that "need".
Are we still talking about online gambling?

Yes. It's for addicts.
Online gambling is a matter of convenience. I enjoy playing poker and am good enough to have played professionally as an employee of a casino. The nearest casinos are a 3-hour round trip by car. I would much rather be able to play within the comfort of my own home than have to burn the gas and take the time to drive to and from a casino, especially in bad weather.

It is entertainment that can be profitable. The only interest the government should have in online gaming should be licensing the online casinos to make sure they offer fair games, and what they do best - collect taxes on it.

There's lots of ways to gamble without a casino: Sex with crack whores, driving drunk, or ordering Chinese Food are just a few examples.

I agree with Bob O. in regard to the convenience of gambling from your home. I usually play in two free poker tournaments after I get home from work. You play against thousands of people and for not much prize money, but it's a good way to sharpen your game and pass the time. I also play in two other free tournaments offered by sports gambling websites that offer decent money if you come in the top 3-10. Online gambling is the future of gambling.
I live in Hawaii, almost 3,000 miles from Las Vegas. We have no "LEGAL" gambling in Hawaii. I like it that way. As much as I enjoy gambling, it does not have to be part of my everyday life. Treegirl is right, gambling is everywhere. But for me gambling will always be Las Vegas. I enjoy the whole experience: the nice rooms, great food, and general excitement in the air. At home, it's not hard to put in a bet or find an illegal game, but is not the same as Vegas, not in my book. I've been to the Indian casinos, Reno, and Atlantic City, I still love Vegas. Gambling, comes down to someone winning and someone losing, I've played enough to realize in most cases its not me winning. I don't need to sit down at my computer and lose some more.
