CIA torture report

Pouring water on someone's face doesn't come close to what American pows faced

There was a scene in Band of Brothers where one of the American officers upon hearing that his brother was killed, proceeded to machine gun German pows. Nothing was done and he eventually retired from the Army about 20 years later

I am sure incidents like that happened a lot, they just weren't reported

Jesus Christ have you actually seen the series and read the book? Read any other WWII books lately? The soldier you're talking about was Sergeant Bill Guarnere and he didn't kill those POW's. The man shown in the series shooting the POW's was Lt. Speers and in reality he didn't either. Bill Guarnere lost his leg during the Battle of the Bulge and that's where WWII and his military career ended, not 20 years after WWII. Unfortunately we lost Bill Guarnere earlier this year. One of the finest men to have walked this earth and a very dear friend. A family man, straight shooter and fun to be around, After returning from the war and recovering from his injuries he started working construction jobs in Philly. When people asked about why he was missing a leg, he told people a shark took a bite out of him. War was over, back to reality. Our greatest generation truly was our greatest generation.

It is true that during WWII a number of POW's were killed. Simply because Allied troops didn't know what to do with them at that stage of the war, in the middle of an invasion. The Germans have done the same thing, so have the Japanese. If you don't know what you're talking about, why don't you just put a sock in it?

Stop talking bullshit about true American heroes. I happen to know almost every veteran of E-Company, 506th P.I.R., 101st Airborne Division (WWII) personally. I know their stories, I know their families and I know what they are all about. People like you can't even stand in their shadows and let me tell you this: not one of them will support torturing enemies to get shaky intelligence, NOT ONE!

What? You didn't answer the question ! Somebody ring the fire alarm. A question was posted on the board and Hoops didn't answer it ! Here, I'll post it again ...and maybe 100 times more like you always do when nobody plays your quiz-show games.

What do you think of Vietnamese prison guards that tortured our POW's in that war? Were they scumbags or people just doing their job?

You beat me to it. Wanted to make a similar comment. Hoops constantly expects you to answer his questions in detail but when you ask him a question he starts to dance like a professional.

Lurker, no wonder you post as anonymous. In addition to your continual whining about me, which is beyond dumb, you just showed how empty your head really is. You & pj might want to think about having one of those gay marriages you're both so in favor of. Both of you need an education because you're as dumb as bags of rocks.

The Vietnamese looked at waterboarding, sleep deprivation, listening to offensive loud music, and enemas as REWARDS for contributing something to the cause. Torture to them us what we all thought it really was before a bunch of liberal pussies started looking for something else to complain about our country for. Torture to the Vietnamese is pulling limbs clear off, putting heads in vices, castration, burns etc.

The density level of some posters on this forum is astounding.
Earth to Rob, go to some AA-meetings bro. You talking to me about posting anonymous? You and I both know you've been lying about your identity from day one don't we?

I'll add this, rather a repeat of what I've already mentioned.

Wasn't referring to those beheadings and you know it...
Obviously. I'm sure you don't know enough history to be aware of it. But in spite of Japanese atrocities, members of the Greatest Generation knew that torture was wrong.

Unlike members of the Worst Generation. Like you.

Your arrogance is astonshing forky and it's funny you try to make me out as some kind of atrocious individual for not getting upset over the US's "torture" of the gitmo pricsoners. Waterboarding, big whoop. I mentioned in an earlier post that if straight blades, lit cigars were used I might have an issue. You show a WWII pic of a soldier being beheaded and somehow equate that with what I think. Whatever. This is my last response with you on this.

I'm not the worst of this generation forky, I would say you and some of your fellow progressives are what is eroding this country.

"The United States participated actively and effectively in the negotiation of [this] Convention. It marks a significant step in the development during this century of international measures against torture and other inhuman treatment or punishment. Ratification of the Convention by the United States will clearly express United States opposition to torture, an abhorrent practice unfortunately still prevalent in the world today.

The core provisions of the Convention establish a regime for international cooperation in the criminal prosecution of torturers relying on so-called ‘universal jurisdiction.’ Each State Party is required either to prosecute torturers who are found in its territory or to extradite them to other countries for prosecution.

What was this CIA Directors name and what years did he work for the CIA?

Boilerman complained the CIA was not interviewed.
But The CIA Director just had an open and transparent press conference where he confirmed the CIA lied about the enhanced interrogation program, used abhorrent techniques, and he agreed with the current president's decision to ban that program going forward.
