Cincinnati for a first timer

I would assume some hotels and or the casino had a shuttle. I would also assume they have a bus system if not.
I know we were comped at a downtown hotel by the casino and it had a shuttle . Ohio casinos do not have their own hotels and contract to hotels downtown. However Caesars sold their Ohio properties and I am not familiar w them now.
It's been a few years, but I had some pretty good ribs at the Montgomery Inn which is out of Cincinnati proper. I believe they have another restaurant in the city. I like Cincinnati Chili, however Skyline Chili, eh? With the chili or coney dogs they sure do give you plenty of this shredded cheese food stuff.

One thing for sure is Cincinnati can be very humid.
There is a casino shuttle bus that weaves it's way through downtown Cincinnati, and then heads to the casino. From the conventions center, it's 2 miles to the casino. It'll take you 30-60 minutes in the bus, and 10 minutes in a taxi.

I'm pissed the Red's are off when I'm there. Really love going to games out of town.

I do have tickets for Mariner's opening day. Never done that before

Montgomery Inn is on the river in Cincinnati and is a good place to get ribs. Apparently the Rookwood restaurant closed. It was a restaurant in the old Rookwood Pottery factory. Hofbrauhaus is in Newport Kentucky. Cincinnati has a decent bus system, not as good as Vegas. Research where it goes. Your hotel can help.
They have really interesting food and wine tours. We went on the Mainstrasse Village Food tour thru Cincinnati Riverside Food Tours. It was a walking tour. Really interesting. Gives you an historical view of Covington Kentucky. There is also several wine tours in Cincinnati which are supposed to be interesting.
Hyde Park is an older section that is very eclectic. Coney Island is a small amusement park in Cincinnati. The Art museum is nice to tour if you like art. The zoo is very large and has a variety of animals. The Union Terminal has a collection of museums about Cincinnati.
It is very hard to navigate Cincinnati because of all of the interstates running thru downtown. Taxis are expensive, but Uber is decent.
The casino downtown, Jack's, is all nonsmoking. Very nice. It has a Margaritaville restaurant and a fair buffet. The Hollywood in Lawrenceburg is in Indiana. It is large but dark. Ceilings are very high. I have never really liked gambling there. Although, I usually end up with more than what I started with. About 20 minutes down a country road from Hollywood is Rising Star casino. A true riverboat casino!!! Small, older machines, smoky, meh food but I usually win well there. Except the damn Red Hot Jackpots!!
Don't forget about IKEA. 2nd largest in the US!!!

1000 Broadway St
Cincinnati, OH 45202
Here is the address of the casino.
