Cirque de Soleil artist killed in fall from stage during ‘Ka’ at MGM Grand

Sarah Guillot-Guyard, an artist in "Ka" at MGM Grand and a mother of two young children, was killed Saturday night after a fall from the show's stage at MGM Grand. The Clark County Coroner's Office confirmed this morning that Guillot-Guyard, listed as age 31, died Saturday night.

Sad, my thoughts go out to her family especially her children.
My God - how incredibly sad.

I suppose 30 years without a fatality is a real accomplishment given the kind of show they do - but one death is one too many. Why didn't they have some sort of emergency net below the stage?

The article indicated Ka is on hold for now - I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a major overhaul in the process.

Very sad indeed.

...... a year ago May, I was at "O", when a girl was hurt as one of those "launching" swings appeared to break.
The show was stopped for about 15 minutes, and I believe they took her out on a board.
I never read about this although I searched, and I never found out if she was okay.

Very sad.

MGM's website lists tickets for shows starting 7/9 - so I guess they're going to be back soon...
Sad but the show must go on.
