The Green Hornet

Staring Bruce Lee

It's on today 1/11/11
So many of the movies that are made from television series have been bad. The Green Hornet movie actually looks like it has potential.

I saw that. Brings back memories. I used to watch it when I was a kid in the 60s. Jeez, now I feel old.
I've noticed a few different 60s shows on syfy lately. It's funny you mention Bruce Lee and the Green Hornet. I just finished googling a former coworker from way back. Unfortunately, I found out he passed away in'02. We were managers for a local menswear chain, although John was 10 years older and far more mature. He went on to a successfull career as a political and left his mark here in Seattle and Wa state. Before I knew him, he and the man who would become the VP/GM of our clothing chain, were roomates with Lee while he was at the UW. I remember sitting and listening to endless stories about Lee and themselves. They spoke of him in a matter of fact manner like everybody knew Bruce Lee! Sorry to see him gone. Very nice and very intelligent man.

Good Luck!

Darn, when you said classic crime TV I thought you were talking about Boston Blackie.
I was born in the late 60's and I miss all those old shows like Emergency, Adam 12 and Have gun will Travel. Seems like TV was far better back then. I am getting a litle sick of all these reality shows.

Hey Lloyd, I have to agree with you we have all the E! series but the 6th so far.

I keep waiting for "Vegas" to go down in price.

I have been buying older stuff, tired of reality.

Tho I do like CSI and Bones, but that is about it on regular TV.

Sad I find cable has funnier series then we have on regular tv and this is disturbing. I haave to say I hate survivor, American Idol, Dancing and the rest.

Heck I have even been watching the older TV cartoons like G I Joe( NOT THE NEW ONE), Transformers and the like

Some of the best old TV was Alfred Hitchcock presents and you will find most of them on YouTube. My favorite episode is the one about the "car accident" called "Breakdown." You can find it, it is in three parts on YouTube. The absolute BEST.

actually many of the current shows reflect the "dumbing down" of america. It started right after 9/11, seems that people are more interested in shows that reflect their comfort zone and so right after 9/11 they cut down on the shows that show violence. They liked idol because they wanted to participate and be part of the show. they like the other voter shows for the same reason. Unfortunately as with the dancing with the stars/palin incident, it isn't best and most talented person getting the votes but who has the most supporters, I mean Palin would have been canned near the beginning if she didn't have the palin/tea supporters voting for her.

People also like to see those reality shows and loser shows, guess it makes them feel better to see people win, or lose.

I don't know about the GH moving coming out, seems the stars of the show are more comedians than serious actors, not sure if I will like the new movie because of it since original show was more serious.

yes there seems to have been better shows many years ago. I also remember another show with a blind guy, hmmm, wasn't bruce lee in that show too? longstreet I think it was. Was interesting how bruce lee got the guy to learn to use his other senses after he lost his sight.

they probably will come out with old shows on dvd eventually, they are already starting to mass produce those shows on dvd as I see many of them at costo or sam's club. Too bad they are more interested in making a buck as most of the old show dvd's are kind of pricey.
