Coffee?

Probably had this question before but the DD locations in LV for coffee bring this up. Seems to be about even on "Starbucks vs DD and others"

What is your coffee if you have a choice?

Caribou if I want something alittle milder, Starbucks if I am trying to stay up late or be "wide-eyed alert"

McDonalds premium is not bad, just so damn hot that you can not drink it for a 1/2 hour unless you have some water available to add.

I have to give big time credit to McDonalds. At one time they had people purchasing breakfast from McDonalds and then going to Starbucks for coffee. They finally got premium coffee, and actually put a dent in Starbuck's sales. I actually like the various breakfast items at McDonalds more than their lunch or dinner items.
At home, I usually brew Community Coffee

For breezing through the drive through, I tend to go to a place near where I work that is local.

I avoid Starbucks unless it is the most convenient option by far and I really want a latte

I sometimes get McDonald's coffee on the weekend mornings because there is one really close to my house and sometimes I do not feel like brewing an entire pot of coffee

At work, we have one of those single cup coffee makers that will dispense steamed milk for latte's and such and we have a vast array of different coffees to choose from.

In Vegas, I either have coffee from wherever I am breakfasting, or if staying at Caesars, I will go to Payard Paitisserie and get a Cafe au Lait.
i drink iced coffee

first choice is dunkin donuts

second is a tie between mcdonalds or starbucks - mcdonalds is a better deal but it seems to be difficult to order "large iced coffee, no sugar, no syrup". they usually still put sugar in it, or somehow thinks this also means "no milk".

My deal use to be Starbuck's and the past two trips it has been a short walk to Fitzgerald's McDonald's and a free senior fill up for about 70 cents. Then I walk down to Walgreens pick-up a LVRJ and return to the bar that is always closed at this hour at the GN and finish both the coffee and the paper.
I don't drink coffee, or any caffeine, except in Vegas, beer, or under extenuating circumstances. As such, I am far from a connoisseur of coffee. Usually I'm happy with one or two Bailey's and coffee from the cocktail waitress, and that's enough to keep me going all night. I do like in the morning walking down to the Starbucks at the Golden Nugget and getting a frozen caramel-mocha-frappa-something and sipping it outside as I read my book and watch Fremont Street come to life.
DonDiego's favorite coffee of all time is Greenwell Farms Kona Coffee grown on the western slopes of the Big Island of Hawaii. teechur and he visited the plantation and DonDiego bought several pounds of these beans right there. When it ran out poor old DonDiego was despondent. It's too expensive to buy-by-mail.

Surprisingly another excellent coffee was Gevalia. Over the years DonDiego acquired 4 or 5 "free" coffee makers by signing up for their initial coffee subscription service. He'd always cancel immediately and get to keep the coffee maker as their "gift" to him for trying their coffee. The coffee was very good, but way more expensive than the stuff DonDiego can buy in the grocery.

When DonDiego is outside his home and in need of coffee he'll usually end up at Starbucks, pr'bly just due to their ubiquity.

At home I only use Eight o'Clock coffee. Starbuck's is coming out with a light roast to take a bite out of the Dunkin Donuts crowd. I do like DD at work.
Maui Coffee Roasters especially if they have Kobayashi Estate from the Big Island.
My hubby is a coffee snob. We order from Upson in Kalamazoo every month. they get raw beans and roast them fresh every week. Many different selections of Arabica beans. When in I am in LV I will usually grind them at home and buy a coffee pot. Sure beats nasty star bucks burnt stuff.

Yes DD that might be a factor.
