For the past 50 years I have helped people with bad burns. A lady fell and grabbed onto the red hot out doors grill. She was screaming for a ride to the hospitlal. I grabbed her arm above the burn, and drug her to my kitchen and held it under cold running water. The cold running water carries the heat away. After about 7 minutes she started crying it was too cold. I Let her up, but cornered her so she could not walk away. Soon more heat from within the burn started to come to the surface, and I put her back under the cold water. As the end o f about 20 minutes she demanded to see a doctor. The emergency room put some oil/salve on her hand and sent her home with a large bill, saying someone saved her hand.
Think fast and you can save someone a lot of pain.
