I respect Colin's right to express his opinion.......however, this has no place on the football field.

The NFL fined Jim McMahon for wearing a headband for juvenile diabetes, but Colin Kaepernick gets a free pass?

I suggest, the referees throw a penalty flag for unsportsmanlike conduct for anyone disrespecting the flag on the field. This 15 year penalty would be enforced on the 1st play from scrimmage and I'm sure Kaepernick's teammates would put a stop to this silliness.

Say what you want before and after the game.....but their needs to be a penalty for being an ASS on the field!

Politically correct? No - just common sense.

Politically correct is Spike Lee saying Colin's actions were in the same tradition as Martin Luther King.

Somehow, I don't believe Dr. King's family think highly of Colin for disrespecting the same flag that was draped across Dr. King's casket.

I respect Colin's right to do what ever he wants to do. That's what millions of veterans have fought, were wounded, and died for.

Now, I also respect the 300,000,000 people of this great country right to:

1) Boo him every time he touches the ball

2) Cheer loud and long every time someone on the defense plows him two feet into the turf.

3) Burn his jersey

4) Boycott any company that is stupid enough to have him as a spokesman from here on out.

After all, this is a free country and if he can do wants, so can we.

He was on the verge of being cut before this ordeal. I was hoping he would work out for Chip Kelly, but now I could care less. If he is cut, many teams who might have considered taking him as a backup, will not be interested, because they wont want the distractions. He is rumored to have a fiance who is muslim. I wonder how much of this is Colin and how much of this is other people influencing him? By the way he was abandoned by his parents and was adopted by a white couple who gave him a very loving home to grow up in.

The NFL has rules against wearing unauthorized gear, it has no rule stating players must stand for the National Anthem.

Now if he gets cut he can blame it on racism, rather than his lack of talent

i say let him be and stop giving him all of the attention that he is craving. if he wants to look like a moron, so be it. if he wants to commit career suicide, so be it. go ahead, sit there and look like a heel! if it were me, I would be trying to protect my earning potential and find another way to protest.

He can do whatever he pleases OFF the field, while on the field he needs to follow the rules and act like a representative of the NFL.
