Colin Kaepernick

As some of you may know I work as a high school football official.

At a game last week, the recorded version of the anthem malfunctioned. So the entire crowd spontaneously sang the song.
Hoops, what ref position? Those side judges get an earful all night, don't they?
In high school, most of the time I am either the referee or the back judge. In semi pro, I work the sidelines

I had no idea.

I've always had a thing for a crazy man in a uniform.

He can say and do what he likes, and the team can fire who they like.

I didn't read the whole thread, but as an avid football home, my home has and will be boycotting any game that shows these idiots on the field during work expressing their personal opinions. If any of us express our personal and political opinions on the clock, we would be fired. I turned off my cable tv eight years ago, I have not stepped foot on an mgm property since the announcement of paid parking. A classic country song said "you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything". We have no real discipline or integrity anymore and are a culture of I want, what I want and will pay any cost for it. How is that working for us, America?

If you can't express your opinions at work, you might want to find a better job. Players are not protesting during the game, which is what they are paid to do. As long as it doesn't interfere with the game itself, they have every right to protest.
Working pretty damned good for me. By the way.

I prefer to not watch the national anthem on tv because, speaking as a musician, most of the time it's just butchered.
I'd rather someone kneel in silence than behave as hundreds ,if not thousands, of fans who yell, talk or drink during it. Some cities are horrible.
I always thought Rosie did the best rendition of the anthem, especially the spit and crotch grab at the end, HOT!

This is how the governor of Kentucky would protest an America governed by Hillary CLinton. Which brings me back to my earlier question....are death threats considered free speech? Maybe in Kentucky

Kaepernick seems pretty tame by contrast, dont ya think?

"Bevin suggested that if Democrat Hillary Clinton were elected president, she would set the nation on a dangerous course that might require bloodshed to correct. He told the audience that the “candle” of liberty might go out “on our watch.”

To hammer home his point, he paraphrased a famous quote from Founding Father Thomas Jefferson: “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

“Whose blood will be shed? It may be that of those in this room. It might be that of our children and grandchildren. I have nine children,” he said. “It breaks my heart to think that it might be their blood that is needed to redeem something, to reclaim something that we, through our apathy and our indifference, have given away. Don’t let it happen.”
