Colin Kaepernick

Things take time to settle. Minds change one way or the other or somewhere in between.

Only his playing skill will determine his future income.

Someone made a point...his method of protest WAS non-violent. He is probably impressionable as young men are at that age, thus his identification with the BLM movement might be stronger than any 'appreciation' of the privileges of his raising, how our taxes (everybody's) created a safe and comfortable environment for him to grow up in and be educated, coached to be one of the few to make it to an NFL team (compared to how many try).
Kaepernick is guaranteed $12 million next year, nearly seven times as much as starter Blaine Gabbert's salary.

He'll play somewhere, and get paid even if he doesn't.

Again with the facts? Will you never learn?
NFL contracts are complicated. The biggest risk for 49ers is that Kaepernick sustains yet another football injury (he had three, count em three surgeries in the off season). If this occurs the 49ers are committed to $14.5 million in 2017 and another $5.3 million in 2018 even if he is in a wheelchair

Wow, he must have somebody really good managing his contracts.

He should invest wisely, spend frugally.
With that many injuries/surgeries already, his NFL career may indeed be very short.

That is part of the NFL game, QB's come at a premium. The IRS loves athletes that huge salaries and signing bonus'. Most of them have very few deductions or write off's. He probably makes about 40 percent of that salary. Taxes, accountants and agents can chew up a nice percent of those wages. Defenses have pretty much had him pegged since his first year. Make him beat you with his arm and not his feet.

Brandon Marshall didn't stand for the national anthem.
And now from nfl.com word that the Seattle Seahawks team plans some sort of game time "demonstration of unity".

DonDiego enjoys watching football and following the sport through the season. He's a fan. He's an Eagles fan. It's the only spectator sport he really likes. For the record he doesn't participate in any 'participation sports' either, except an occasional round of corn-hole at social events.

DonDiego recognizes the right of folks to hold whatever opinion they choose and to express their opinion, . . . it's a free speech thing. It's a good thing. It's in the Constitution.

Poor old DonDiego just wishes such displays didn't happen at the sporting event itself. Maybe it doesn't bother most people. Maybe a protest on another issue would bother some folks that this protest on this issue doesn't bother.

DonDiego recognizes that everyone has the right to express an opinion. He just wishes they didn't do it when he's trying to watch a football game. Whether he agrees with the "cause" or not.
He supposes it is possible for the NFL to impose workplace rules that would limit such demonstrations within the stadia; he hopes they do; he expects they won't.

Oh, and by the way, this Football Sunday is September 11 . . . it'll be fifteen years since the attack on New York City by Islamist terrorists.
I always pegged Poor old DonDiego to be a corn-hole aficionado. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Does anybody watch the HBO show - Ballers?

Basically it is a show about NFL players blowing (in some cases literally) their money & acting like idiots. They bring in NFL players to guest star who in turn act like idiots.

Why would an active player want to be on this show is amazing.
