Collectables, antiques, memorabilia

Just curious as to what others might collect, whether it be comics, coins, baseball cards, beanie-babies, etc. These are some of my collection, Silver American Eagles (1 oz. fine silver), 1 gram gold bars (I bought these out of the vending machine at Golden Nugget Las Vegas, $63 each), and small gold nuggets.

I collect all sorts of stuff. I have several thousand comics ranging from 1940 to around 1975, a decent baseball card collection from the 1960s, 50s and 50s era coins, Civil War stuff, Peter Max lithos and prints, toy soldiers,Pre-1980 Vegas items, coins, currency, ect, ect. Way.way too much stuff.
About the only thing I don't own is gold, except for one chain I've worn for years.
Im in the PCGS Registry for a coin collection. One of the collections was ranked #1 until I sold it and it was dispersed among several collectors. If I told you what it was, you'd figure out who I am. (LOL)
what was gold at when you got the 1 gram bars... what was the premium?

surf... what's on those 1 gram gold bars... anything related to "Golden Nugget" or just some generic brand? If Vegas related they would make a neat Vegas collectible even if they do have a high premium.

Some math:

100 gram gold bar, quoted by Kitco with gold at $1427/ounce = $ 4,633.06 ea.

At that price of $ 4,633.06 ea. without additional premium, one gram = $46.33

One gram pieces would normally have a big markup so a price of $63 while high is not out of the question or unrealistic. Give it a "Vegas connection" or other "collectability" and the $63 price might actually be attractive.

edited to add: just checked some online sellers who at this time are asking $72 for one gram "art bars." Damn, Im tempted to drive to the GN to get some!!! Slapinfunk-- if these are "Vegas one gram bars" at $63 gas up the car!!
I collect casino chips. My avatar is a chip I took home with me instead of cashing it in.
Just got this from the Golden Nugget website about the vending machine... note the mention of GN souvenir pieces. Any info on these??

The GOLD to go ATM is always online and updates prices every 10 minutes based on current gold spot prices. Along with gold bars of various weights ranging between one gram and one ounce, the vending machine also sells traditional gold coins and Golden Nugget souvenir pieces.
I collected antiques for about 20 years and then got interested in Las Vegas items after meeting my husband who lived in Las Vegas, and later marrying in Las Vegas. As my parents made lots of trips to Vegas when I was growing up, I had a few things that were vintage from my parents.

My favorite Las Vegas collectibles are the old ashtrays with casino logos, the old paper slot cups, and old hotel room keys with fobs. I also have a few of the old slot machine glasses with logos that are framed and backlit. On my trips to Las Vegas now, I bring back whatever I can find to add to my "Las Vegas room", which is usually room key cards, swizzle sticks from the bars, and matchbooks.

It makes the trip fun to trying to seek out a trinket or two to bring back.
We bought 1 gold bar 10g from the Gold ATM Machine in the Golden Nugget in January it cost $502.00 at the time. The other thing they offered in the same aTM gold Machine was a gold bar just like the one we purchased except it had the Golden Nugget name of one side of it. I collect Silver Strikes only have about 50 of them but I have one $40 from Wynn's We have 5 old slot machines 2 nickel ones Wild Cherry--2 dime ones and 1 quarter one. They are all in working condition and orginial. Other things I collect are slot cards, ash trays, and room keys.
To answer MoneyLA's and Slapinfunk's questions on the day that I bought those 1 gram gold bars the spot price of gold was about $1425 an ounce. The brand name on those 1 gram gold bars that I got is "Pamp Suisse." It also has the serial numbers stamped on each bar. And yes, just before I bought those pieces from the "Gold-2-Go" vending machine I did an internet search and American Precious Metals Exchange (APMEX.com) was selling their 1 gram bars for $73 online. The Gold-2-Go vending machine is cheaper but it still has a considerable mark up from the spot price ($63 x 31 troy ounces = $1953). Another important thing about the Gold-2-Go vending machine, it only takes cash. I wanted to pay with credit card but no can do. And as TheGreek posted the Gold-2-Go vending machine also sell different sizes of gold bars/rounds up to I think 1 ounce rounds (coins). And they also have a Golden Nugget brand 10 gram bar but I can't recall the price of those.

Edited to add: the more you buy in terms of higher weighted pieces from the Gold-2-Go vending machine the less you'll pay for the mark-up. For instance the 1 oz. gold round was faily close to the spot price but just a tad bit more (they have to make some profit).
