Comedy?

Woke up and saw A clockwork orange was on, great movie btw a bit odd though. I noticed on the decription that it was labeled as comedy.

Comedy? Seriously? I was looking for the comedic moments, seen the movie several times and there really aren't very many. The stodgy British guards always make me chuckle tho.

Alex and his little droogy's. Hilarious!

Interesting trivia I never knew about it, it was originally planned as a semi rock n roll musical with the Rolling Stones. Obviously it changed. In the rape scene, Kubrick told Malcom McDowell to improvise and just sing a song he knew so he started singing "Singin' in the rain" while also improvising the little dance. All according to the Turner Classic movie host guy.
What, you fancy a bit of comedy within the ultra violence?

I've seen the movie probably 8-10 times and try to keep up with the dialogue. To this day I'm still not sure exactly what all is being said.

I'm currently in England and I'm not sure these blokes are getting on about. Yesterday, they told me an arctic crashed out on the motorway on the way to the top secret American military base we can't talk about and caused a two hour delay.
An "arctic crashed"...hmm, trying to decipher that one. I thought snowstorm at first. Give me a few ,I'll figure it out over a few biscuits.
I've spelled it wrong. "Artic" is the correct spelling.

And there is no truth to the rumour that NSA is monitoring us.
Clockwork Orange is no comedy. It is dystopian or dystopian science fiction. Other films in that genre include Soylent Green, Gattica, Logan's Run, Blade Runner, Rollerball, Mad Max and the 1927 classic Metropolis.

I'm sure you know this, snidely, but for others who may be wondering, “artic” is short for “articulated lorry.” It just means a large truck, consisting of (usually) two components: a tractor and a trailer, connected by a rotating joint. In the US, we’d call it a “semi” or an “18-wheeler.”
