Comenity Bank Total Rewards Visa

OK, I figured out how to work this. I go to Walmart and use the Visa for Walmart gift cards. I go to Sam's Club and use the gift cards to buy Sam's Club shopping cards. I use the shopping cards to buy gasoline.

Now, can anyone tell me the best play with the 10,000 reward credits? How much is a reward credit worth?

One reward credit is worth 1 penny. So you have $100 to spend at Total Rewards. Most Total Rewards are given at 1:1 but some are 2:1 lowering your worth to $50. You have to ask to ensure you're getting 1:1. My best play with them is to hit up a fancy restaurant during the week when they have their $39 dinners. Dinner for two with tip and pay for it with Reward Credits.

I'm sure how the card works (and I have one) but I think you might do better just paying for the gasoline using your credit card.

No yearly fee.

We never stay on the Strip any more, but, in two weeks, we are taking our daughter and our 21-year- old g-daughter for her first trip, and are staying on the Strip; so, we got the card to avoid the resort fee (you are automatically raised to Platinum) at PHo, and to take advantage of the free Buffet of Buffets. Actually, we each got a card and each booked a room so both rooms avoid the resort fee. Plus, each got a free BofB good for two people each (must be used in first 6 months you have the card). So, the resort fee alone saved us $120, plus we all four eat free for 24 hours, plus you get the free TR credits (worth $50 in comps for running 500 through the card in three months, or $100 for $750 in the first 3 months). Additionally, our local Harrah's was sold, so we do have an occasional issue with earning one point per 6 months to not have our points erased-- if you use the card at least once every 6 months, that is taken care of.

We are not ones to get a lot of credit cards, but this one-- like the SWA 50k card--just had too much value to turn down.

I just received my new total rewards card, and my offer is 5000 points for running thru just $250.00. An additional 5000 points for charging $750.00.

Yes, same as my offer. They don't take Visa at Sam's, so I used it to buy Walmart gift cards, and then converted those to Sam's Club gas cards. They gave me the reward credits as soon as I paid the card.
