Conservatives/Republicans Your God, Charles Koch, Has Spoken, And You Are Getting Paul Ryan

It doesn’t matter if Donald Trump or Teddy Cruz gets the most votes, you are getting Paul Ryan like it or not. How dare you have the nerve to think that you lowly foot soldiers get to pick the nominee.

I am guessing every one of you will feign indignation at the suggestion, but a few days after it happens the bulk of you will be on board and ready to carry Ryan’s water for the Koch brothers.

I'll bet you $20 Paul (Eddie Munster) Ryan is not the 2016 Republican Nominee.
The thinking goes something like this. Right now, the chance of a brokered convention is high. Some people say maybe as high as 90%. I don't think it's that high, but it's looking more and more like it. A fairly large portion of Trump delegates don't support him and are released from their obligations after one ballot. Even more are released after the second. By a third ballot, the biggest batch of delegates will be establishment officials formerly pledged to Trump or Cruz. Almost every delegation will be lead by an establishment official.
Today's Washington Post has a featured story about talk in Washington about Ryan having a 54% chance of being the nominee.

Maybe, they will offer Teddy the VP slot as an appeasement to the rank and file. That way you could have the Eddie Munster and Grandpa Munster Ticket.

I would bet thousands on that not happening. The current line is Trump -140, Cruz +200, Kasich +450, Ryan Not on the Radar.

But if anyone wants to take Ryan on a friendly bet with even odds, I'd be more than happy to take your money.

I'm no 'liberal'. Funny pictures aren't liberal or conservative. They're funny.

See?

Just to be clear, the Post wasn't giving Ryan a 54% chance, it was reporting on talk going round. Personally, I think the odds of Trump being the nominee are going down daily, but he's still favored.

Who else would it be then? Trump is going to likely lose Wisconsin as Walker, Priebus and Ryan all have their fingers on the scale in that state. This will make it more difficult for Trump to win the nomination outright even if he does well in the remaining races. Priebus and various members of the establishment are now openly and publically advocating for a contested convention. It looks to me like that is where we are going, so other than Ryan can you name anybody else it could possibly be?” I note in one story I read today they are using the terminology, “The least establishment establishment guy,” to promote Ryan.

I think the VP slot is more or less reserved for somebody that will appease the base's butt hurt, and I think that person will likely be Ted Cruz.
