Coolers forbidden at the Red Rock Casino

That happens at the Indian casinos in California. On our last trip, there were 3 guests checking in, maybe in their 30's. They had a small cooler, as they were approaching the rooms, the guard told them no coolers were allowed.

Make sense if the casinos want folks to spend more time on the casino floor gambling and no boozing it up in their room or making a lot of noise partying and disturbing their fellow hotel guest.

There are so many places to buy alcohol in the casino, folks just need to be discrete and bring individuals beers/wine coolers... to the room

If they have this policy, they certainly don't enforce it. It's not even discrete....many times you'll see coolers on bellman's carts traipsing through the casino. This is particularly true on the weekends when the kids are in from Cali.

I think the only two places where I've seen more coolers on parade was at Circus-Circus and Excal.

We had a thread a while back on this forum where somebody posted a story about how the Hard Rock was so strict, they wouldn't even let people with drinks on the elevators. The purpose of this was they believed people could take back alcoholic drinks to minors in their rooms. I don't know if any of this is still enforced. I will search for the thread.

[EDIT] The thread was started by me. I got the story from the Question of the Day on the Las Vegas Advisor. Here is the link.

Once again, it's selective enforcement there. Although I've only stayed there two times, on both of these occassions, there wasn't a security guard at the elevators (HRH Tower). Neither was a weekend so perhaps it's more highly enforced then. What a rediculous policy; especially if you got/bought the drink from them.

Never been part of the cooler toting club but have brought drinks up to my room more times than I can recall (pun intended and never had an issue anywhere.

The biggest issue for security at HR is ID'ing kids constantly to ensure that they're of age and carrying out drunks from the pool on Sunday.

Typical now-a-days Vegas experience; dealing with the gauntlet of valet, bellman and front desk employees who expect a tip for the services they get paid to do. Then enter your room and check to see if it is clean and free of bedbugs. Look but don't touch the overpriced snacks, water and minibar. Don't you have the audacity to bring a cooler to keep your items cool. Of course if you need a refrigerator, it will be furnished for an obscene fee. Head for the casino and play the 6/5 blackjack, the lowered payback slots and video poker. After taking a beating, go and get something to eat at the overpriced restaurants while you enjoy the dining experience- don't forget the tip. After a few days of this, check out, pay your bill with the ever present gouging "resort fee". Add to this listing the airfare with the baggage and other asinine fees, overpriced car rental charges with multiple taxes, inflated taxi fares with the long hauling. All of this and more - Ah, the Vegas experience!

Only a fool would frequent a place if it was as you described it. When is your next trip?
Oh uh, Bill. You are headed for the Doctor's iggy list.
