Lopez was named a 2009 state police office of the year and was awarded a "Challenge Coin" in July, an honor given to officers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. From the article.

He sure did this time go above and beyond the call of duty.............

You guys are so touchy about stuff and oh so quick to be judgemental and proclaim your better than thou PC thinking(this sure as hell isn't the only thread). Big deal,he got busted getting a little while at work,you think he's the only person to do it while at work? I can think of a few VIP's who used to get it on a regular basis while at work. Clinton and JFK off the top of my head(JFK used to sneak marilyn M in the white house on more than one occasion). Employees sneaking into a backroom at the office also comes to mind.

Jatki99, You need to chill out man. He was stupid enough to get caught on camera. I mean really....no one held the camera on him. Stop thinking all are better then tho. We are calling it as we see it. I know I can being a medic for 20 years, and I have seen ALOT of "S@#T" over the years. Sex, and many other things, but they were not stupid enough to get caught on tape to be shown all over the world. Take a chill pill man, maybe next time this officer will do it off camera. He might be a great cop, he might not be, but I do know he was caught on camera and that was his mistake not mine or anyone else here.

Medic I couldnt have said it any better. It sure is funny that certain people approve of this type of behavior and it is also is the reason that this country is the sad shape it is in now. I guess according to jatki99 it is okay to rob a bank but if we identify who did it on camera that it is wrong to expose him?

Karma is a bitch and this guy got what he has deserved in my opinion.

Oh, I didn't know you exposed him. I thought it was a security camera at the entrance to the ranch, which was forwarded to the NM State Police, which then inititiated disciplinary proceedings. I had no idea you were involved.

" (AP) SANTA FE, N.M. — An Albuquerque judge accused of raping a woman will retire Friday and has agreed never to seek a judicial office in New Mexico under a disciplinary order issued Tuesday by the state Supreme Court.

District Judge Pat Murdoch was arrested last week on charges of rape and intimidation of a witness while serving as chief criminal judge in the 2nd Judicial District, which covers the Albuquerque area and is New Mexico's biggest district court system.

The agreement to retire was reached between Murdoch and the state Judicial Standards Commission, which had started a disciplinary investigation of Murdoch.

Murdoch's decision to retire ends further disciplinary proceedings by the commission and the Supreme Court, which makes the final decision on whether to reprimand, suspend or remove judges from the bench for misconduct."

Why is anything 'funny'. Like...for instance Don Rickles. He insults people. He hurls racial slurs. He's a mean son of a bitch....and considered one of the funniest men ever. Why do we laugh at slapstick and physical humor? Do you think it's funny for someone to fall down?

In the case of the Cop being busted for sex on the hood of a car...he WAS in fact STUPID. Right or wrong, we make fun of stupid things people do. Ever seen Worlds Dumbest XYZ caught on tape? This would make the top 10. You may not think it's 'funny' to make fun of this 'poor cop's' indiscretion. Others do. To equate it with a rape is just assinine.

Now if you really don't know the difference between a cop who got videoed with his wang in a consensual wang receptical and a rapist judge, then you should just stay away from women and cops and judges altogether.
