Cosmo card and buffet

I've seen a couple of posts in the past refer to a free buffet coupon at cosmo when you sign up for their players card.
Is this still the practice?

I been to Cosmo quite a few times and stayed there. If you are new there and have never had an "Identity" card, you sign up at guest services. You can either take $10 in free play or spin the wheel and win something. My girlfriend and I took the free play. I ended up winning $50 back with thier $10. The catch is, you have to put a dollar of your own money to start the $10 of free play. I have never heard of a free buffet card or anything like that.

I won't gamble at Cosmo anymore, they have a shitty way of changing things and taking peoples points away without telling them. There is more in this forum that explains this.
Thank you franco. Appreciate the info.
I must have misunderstood a case where someone spun the wheel and got a buffet.
Maybe you can spin the wheel and win a buffet.

If you opt to spin the wheel instead of taking the $10 freeplay there is a spot on the wheel that offers "2 free buffets" at the Wicked Spoon (you could also win up to $500 in freeplay). The wheel has several $5 freeplay spots so you are taking a chance by passing on the $10 offer and spinning the wheel.
Thanks for all the info. I've got comped nights at the Gold Coast and then South Point on this upcoming trip. Had no real plans on hitting the strip. Thought I might wander over for a couple of freebies at a decent buffet. But a wheel spin just doesn't entice me. guess I'll stick to the off strip properties.
Thanks again
I just have to say actually we actually did that in December.

You only get ONE buffet. It is a bit misleading (O.K. a lot ) I talked my friend into trying the wheel instead of taking the free play. She won the buffet and imagine my surprise when we got one and then had to pay for the other one and I think it was about 35 or 40. I could check my records we both were disappointed. It opened late and the food was cold.

If you are a "foodie" perhaps you would like it better. You didn't have chicken you had chicken infused with rosemary and a hint of sage, instead of crab you had crab with lemon paprika and oregano . You get the idea.

We both disliked it. I felt bad and ate almost nothing. Service was lacking also. All together a totally underwhelming experience.

Thanks for the correction. I agree that 1 isn't a hot deal unless you are on a solo trip.
Was there in Feb. Did the $100 rebate promo. Received $5 in FP and a spin on the wheel after 25 points. From my understanding, wheel can be spun each day after earning 25 points. Points are not deducted
I haven't visited the Cosmo yet- the more I hear about it the less inclined I am to visit.
