Cosmo casino, some first impressions

Well I am a 60 yr old not a 20 yr old and not in favor of loud music.
I did not notice any difference in the crowd at the time of day I visited.
I was there during the late morning and had a great time.

The penny slot selection was extensive especially considering the size of the floor.
Found many new and large bonus yielding slots. Great fun and I left with more $$ than I came in with.
Always a sign of a new favorite casino for me.

We hit their buffet twice, 3 times if you count the time we toured it to see if we would like it for our Christmas brunch. We did.

Valet parking in the back allowed for easy access for my mom who was using her walker.
The elevator up to the second level was right next to the valet parking entrance and the buffet was just around the corner from where the elevator came up on the second floor.

I cannot wait to go back and have my cosmo at the cosmo.

I think when rooms are designed to be shared like that, it also means trouble is brewing.

I believe the pull-out beds are in place because the original intent for most of the rooms was to sell them as condos/timeshares. Pullout beds are a pretty standard feature in furnished condos.

But you may be right that it intices larger groups to share a room.

I think observations like the above can be somewhat subjective.

I'll be dropping in to see Cosmo very soon and will form my own opinions.

This is the path everyone should take and to go in there without a jaundice mind-set.

Deke (LVA writer) and Anthony Curtis gave Cosmo a glowing review.

If I was to summarize their take on the place in one word it would be, "cool."

Others who have responded here seem to have enjoyed their Cosmo visit.

While one person may see paradise another may see an outhouse.

Both may not be wrong.

jaundiced view? Like, how about buying advertising from me?

I was there over Christmas.

The Cosmo is definitely a contrast to Aria. I love Aria. Didn't care for Cosmo.
Just one side note: Cosmo is going to have one hell of a time trying to keep that crystal clean and bright with all of that smoke. In fact, if they dont keep it very clean, it will look dingy. I honestly think that was a design flaw.

Anyone with crystal chandeliers or lighting fixtures in their home knows what Im talking about-- just regular dust in your home settles on the surfaces and affects the lighting.

Also, Im waiting for someone to note that the crystal bar chandeliere at Cosmo steals the title of largest crystal chandelier from the chandelier in the dome in the Palace Casino at Caesars. Ahh... a QOD ???
I think the Cosmo is What City Center aspired to be. I loved the placed had two great meals at Wicked Spoon(my new fav buffet) and The Henry very tasty burger and
great tots. It was very busy but did not seem crowded. The property is one of the nicest I have seen and I will be looking forward to returning and staying there. I think
the only thing they lack is a poker room and a good sports book. I would encourage everyone to check it out. I look forward to trying all the great restaurants.
Ya know, the Cosmo casino is beautiful, and to "change it" all they need to do is:

1. change the music. pipe in 70s and 80s music to attract the older gambling crowd
2. lower the music. because the older folks can't hear above the loud music.
3. change the games and lower the minimums.

Other than that, there's nothing wrong with the crystal, the carpet, the layout, the craps tables (well, they are long), and the blackjack tables.

What I object to really, is the choice of music, the loudness which attracts rich 20 year olds who think its a party room and not a casino.

Oh, some decent video poker games would also help.
I just went through the Cosmo.

Here is my "The good, the bad, and the ugly"

The Good: The self parking garage has a tracking system for each and every parked car. You are first told how many empty spaces are on each floor. As you arrive at that floor you are told how many empty spaces there are in a certain row. Each parking space has a light above it. If the light is red, it means the space is occupied. If it is green (which you can see for quite a ways) then you will know where there is an empty spot. The roulette games have these incredible results boards, and numbers and sections light up on the roulette tables.

The Bad: The sportsbook is a small desk with two tellers and a small odds board behind it. You may as well go over to Aria if you want a decent sports book.

The Ugly: While my friend liked the interior, I thought it looked like it was fashioned after a high end whore house. The casino is not very wide. The table minimums are high. Admittedly the upper floors where there were meeting rooms looked more like an art deco interior.
I respect your views of the Cosmopolitan, Money. I think your experience varied from mine recently, since you visited at 3 AM. At that hour, I had already been asleep up on 56 for three hours!!!
At your time of visit, they probably ARE targeting the party set, with Marquee and all, and it was a Sunday club night. Totally different group in the casino at that hour.
Earlier that evening, I spent several hours in the casino. Observed jeans and tees, short skirts, suits, and little club attire. Tables were busy, slots somewhat, but the bars seemed to be full one hour, then half full the next. A few groups obviously brought together for conferences and such, pretty much a crowd you might see in Paris/Ballys any late evening, but NOT at 3 AM. The people I observed were probably in bed by midnight. Like me.
I too wonder how on earth they will keep the glow, so to speak, on the place. All the shiny and crystal going on everywhere. And hope they keep up with the LED stuff, cause it knocked me out in BOND.
First casino where I ever really looked up to see what they had done. Pretty spectacular in my book.
Right now, anyone that knows this place has opened, is visiting, and that includes the youngsters, and the rest of us!
Thanks for your observations.
