Just heard from my host at the Red Rock that the Cosmopolitan is laying off 40 people. 23 of them of them are dealers. Her husband works at the Cosmo but his job is safe as he's the head chef for their restaurants.
I'm not surprised one bit. Unless a person works in housekeeping, bars, restaurants, or the nightclubs there, they should be worried. Every time I go into Cosmo, the gaming floor is a ghost town.
40 is less than 1% of their workforce. That place still employs a bunch of people. They need to employ more cocktail waitresses and/or floor dedicated bartenders. I've only played in the place once - $50 minimum black jack, and it took a good 30 minutes to get a drink at the table. I was winning, and I still left because of the lousy drink service.
It's the shits when you can't get a drink while gambling. Who wants to gamble if you can't smoke or drink? I guess the non-smokers or drinkers don't mind!
I wont even start playing til i get a drink. When i smoked i wouldn't even think of sitting at a non smoking table or where people are bitvhing about it.
