Costco/Avis Questions...

Hello!

I've never rented with Avis before, so I have a few questions for anyone who can help me...

Can I use the online Costco coupons without being a member of Costco?
Does Avis have kiosks for quick check-in?
Do you choose your own car?

Last time I was there Avis didn't have a kiosk to check in. Alamo is the only that I know that does. There may be others, but Alamo is the only one I know of. As for Costco coupons do so at your own risk. They can ask you for your Costco membership either when you get the car OR when you return it. If you don't have a Costco card be prepared to be charged a very high amount. I have used my Costco discounts at Alamo before and have never been asked for my card, however I also know people who have used it at Alamo and other places and have been asked. I personally don't think it's worth the risk if you're not a member.

Thanks garthman83! Since the price I'm getting from the Costco coupon is quite a bit less than without it, I'm thinking I may just pay the $50 membership fee and sign up for a Costco card.

That is what I did too. The savings for Alamo through Costco was worth the $50 membership. Gas savings from filling up at Costco is nice too. You can also cancel your Costco membership too I think anytime for a full refund. I personally keep mine because I use it enough but it's still an option. Enjoy your trip!

From what I have seen, you have to have a costco card. I believe the last time I did the car rental
through costco, there is a space to put your costco card #.
It's been a while so I could be wrong.
