Could Trump Taj be the next casino to go bankrupt?

Another AC casino to bite the dust??

AC is in free fall.

Just in case anyone is worried about the impact of these matters on Mr. Donald J. Trump, . . . they needn't be especially concerned.
Mr. Trump was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trump Entertainment Resorts until his resignation in 2009. He was given stock in the company for its use of his name and likeness. Beyond that he has no connection to the enterprise.

On 2 September Mr. Trump sued Trump Entertainment Resorts "demanding that his name be stripped from the remaining two casinos." Mr. Trump is apparently "vexed at the impending closing of Trump Plaza on Sept. 16."

I've been to Atlantic City, and whilst I liked it as an international visitor, it's a poor cousin to Vegas imho. They've had a run of bad luck lately, with tsunamis and cutoff from their original feeder markets of New York and Philadelphia etc... I do feel for the locals who live there. My gut feel tells me that even more casinos in Atlantic City will close before long. Would you visit Vegas if it had say just 10 casinos? Probably not. Casino destinations are destinations because they have LOTS to do. So the more that close down, the less visitors that destination will get.

IF they provide really good deals and specials for players, some might survive - otherwise it's a slippery slope I think.

Wouldn't be surprised that place was a mistake from the beginning.

Big meeting today about what to do about AC.

They need to find a new reason for people to go that will overide their concerns about the unsavory neighborhood that surrounds the casinos.

That's exactly the problem, AC is pretty much a s___hole. I haven't been in 10 yrs and the only nice or decent about the place then wwere the boardwalk and casinos and those could even be considered dubious.
I can't imagine it's improved much in those ten years.
