I was on the Pride about 4-5 years ago as well as a couple of other Carnival cruises.
Some observations I made.
Formal nights in the dining area weren't enforced. I saw some guys wearing short sleved shirts with ties but no jackets.
Don't try to cheap out by taking one of the out of season cruises. We did it twice to save about $100 per person and both times we lost either one or two days as the weather leaving and returning to port (Miami and Long Beach) was too cold to enjoy time on deck.
Carnival used to sell soft drink cards at the beginning of the cruise. I found it well worth the price. You just presented your card and got a soft drink instead of paying for each one as you went. You could only get one glass at a time but several couples were sharing a card.
Thanks everyone! We are looking forward to the cruise and spending time with my brother. He told me tonight the this is going to be his last vacation. He has to many things he has to take with him.
Bagant ...I wish some of you were coming along with us too. We will be going to Vegas this year just not sure when.
Oh FYI You can bring one bottle of wine or champagne on board. If you take it to dinner they will charge you a corking fee. We figure we will all bring a bottle.
I know there is a ship for the gay alternative . I was thinking the same jphelan
Sheltie I think that is great that you guys are doing this for your brother . I hope he enjoys the trip and may God grant him a Bucket List that he can empty full of dreams come true.
I haven't started to put a Bucket List together yet . I am afraid it will jinx me.
