I stayed Dt on Aug 31- Sept 6th, went into the Plaza on the 31st and right away at 6 am on the opening on the 1st. They had local news coverage reporting at the 6 am news from in front of the place. Nothing at all going on inside, very few people there. I was staying next to the Plaza so I was in there everyday for a week. First off hardly anything is open, the Mcdonald's there not open along with the 2 new places Zaba's and Gigi's Cupcakes, not open. The third floor haircut place not open. I went to place a bet on the 1st " grand opening " day in the sports book and they had there big screen tv's there on the floor unplugged and I was unable to watch the preseason football game that I placed a bet on for that evening. I overheard a Mgr. speaking to an employee of the book stating that on grand opening we are unable to have our TV's up and running? They had small tv's working behind the counter. Up on the 5th floor the pool was only about 1/4 full of water and the tennis courts were unuseable because of remodeling going on, the place had all kinds of const. material laying all around looking very junky. I was staying the the LVC and had access to all the Plaza's ammenities, but there were none to be had, even went into the 7th floor laundry room where the 7th floor ice machine was being stored, two young guys came in stating they were staying there and so far they have tried unsuccessfully getting ice on 4 floors. When you go from the south tower to the 5th floor pool area, that little hallway leading out is suppose to have a concession area and workout area etc. well that was all ripped apart and big garbage cans full of old debris just laying around. Suffice to say that maybe the " rooms " were done, but nothing else. I did return on the 2nd to redeam my sports bet, and the tv's were up and running then. I meandered in and out of the Plaza for a week and it will be awhile till everything is open. That's my take on there Grand Opening!!
