Oh man that sucks, sorry to hear, what a pain in the ass, It's usually pretty easy to get the charges cancelled since you cancelled it promptly.

I get a call from American Express at least once a year, maybe a little more often. "Have you made a charge at a parking garage in New Jersey?" Nope. New card in overnight delivery. How this place gets my card info I have no idea. Maybe its just random. And why don't they shut the place down?
Never had a problem denying the charge. AX has always contacted me so it has never been on my bill.

Husband got a call from cc company a week or so ago, have you made a $1 charge o your card? One dollar. No. New card issued.

I am impressed that they recognize and deny these fraudulent (or otherwise mistaken) charges so quickly.

I got a cell phone text to call the cc company while in Vegas, have you charged $275 from Radio Shack in Fargo ND? Huh? No.

This could have been a problem because we were just checking out of one hotel and moving to another that day. Thankfully we had another cc with us.

I am pretty sure that hotels WILL accept a cash deposit in lieu of cc, but last time I was faced with having to do this it was like $400. I just waited until husband got there with the card. They held the room but couldn't issue the keys a deposit was made.

I'm not even sure they require this anymore?

Strange, ... I also had a charge on a different credit card for a charge at a parking garage in Chicago (I think the airport).
I've flew into and out of Chicago many times, but have never set foot out of the airport, thus obviously have never driven there.
The charge was dropped and I got a new card.

Usually. I think they want to be "open-ended" in case a TV comes up missing,I guess.

I would welcome my CC companies asking me if I made a charge recently!

I can see why American Express charges for the privelige of having a card from them:CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Credit card fraud is common.

Maybe that's why I pay such high interest charges,to pay(A).. (the) company to go after the criminals.
