Deadline approaching to apply for Stop Loss bonuses

If you were SL'd, or know anyone who may have been stop-lossed in the military since 2001, the deadline for applying for the SL bonus is March 4th.
People who were stop=lossed are eligible for a one time bonus of $500 per month for the time the duty was extended. This means some 145,000 troops are eligible and the average bonus is around $3800.
Less than sixty percent of eligible people have applied yet. The military is trying to track down all those who are eligible, but many young people are no longer at the addresses they provided when they enlisted or were seperated.
www.defense.-gov/stoploss has information on this.
Please pass this along to anyone who might be eligible.

Most of the folks I knew were in 1996, the last of the Bush, Clinton mass Exodus.

Btw to everyone out there, a Stop Loss is when Uncle Sam hauls your butt back to serve due to no fault of anyone. (Uncle Sam NEVER makes mistakes, so there!!!(stick tounge out))
Its not just that. If you have a Specialty thats needed, they keep you in after your enlistment is up. It sucks, but the military needs people to fight two wars.

Brill, I think I basically stated the same thing. If Uncle Sam needs you, he grabs, and lets go when he's done with you.

The civies out there just need an overview, not stuff in great detail.
